17.3.3 TREASURE HUNT
A Treasure Hunt is a game in which players look for locations, denizens, or items across the world of Lusternia. The clues to finding these may take the form of riddles, visions, or other hints that you need to decipher. There is always a fixed number of clues and all players receive the same ones, but they will be presented in a random order. The game generally starts with players gathering at the starting point and receiving an item used in the hunt. Whoever is leading the game will make it clear how to request it. The item is vital to being able to complete the hunt and often is a permanent memento. The syntax needed to use the item will vary from game to game but will usually be listed when probing it or revealed upon receiving it. There are usually at least two actions you will be able to take - revealing a clue and checking if your guess is correct. Most games do not penalise for checking a wrong guess beyond making you wait to recover your balance again. In some games, there is also an option to re-roll your clue in case you are stuck. This option will have a cooldown. HORIZON WALKERS The Horizon Walkers Guild (see: HELP HORIZON WALKERS) has a chapter at the pilgrim camp at the foot of Mount Avechna, headed by Tessie Snapfuse. Her goal is to inspire new generations of explorers by encouraging participation in a variety of treasure hunts to hone one's skills and expand horizons. The Guild offers rewards for participation in the treasure hunts they organise, made available upon completion. These are: 1st completion - an intricate wooden map of the Basin of Life (a decorative item for an aethermanse) 2nd completion - an intricate wooden bas-relief puzzle (a decorative item for an aethermanse) 3rd completion - a tall wooden display case (allows displaying of treasure hunt mementoes) 4th completion - access to Tessie's wares (one use) Subsequent completions will give one invitation each to access Tessie's wares. Among her stock, there are items made available in past Treasure Hunts that one may have missed out on. Progress can be verified by reading the Lexicon of Reconnaissance available in Tessie's tent.
