It started as a quiet day in Hallifax, the generators humming lazily and
song of the crystal spires drifting throughout the floating city. The
peace was shattered by alarms ringing and the Collective of Hallifax
issuing early warning announcements. Led by Emeritus Doman Salceto,
citizens of Hallifax searched high and low for the cause of the alarms
but could find no clue what they were about. As the warnings became more
pronounced and dire, it became clear that they were being directed to a
caste that no longer existed in Hallifax.

Eventually, the cause of the warnings was made apparent when an unstable
temporal shift erupted outside of Hallifax upon the Emerald Road.
Strange creatures from the past known only as the Dominators came
through, chased by a strange knight. Fortunately, the Dominators
eventually left the area whereby Hallifax could study the rift in
greater detail. Eventually, the Collective initiated emergency
procedures and began searching for a 'candidate'. The candidate turned
out to be a low level research assistant named Irima Ironwing. The
Collective downloaded massive amounts of information into her head,
which left her nearly insane. After slowly recovering, she made her way
to the Ministry of Peace where her final 'transformation' took place and
she transformed into a Storm Trill, a type of warrior that had not been
seen since the old imperial days.

With her newfound knowledge, Irima was able to go to the rift and raise
a crystal spire which enabled the sealing of the temporal anomaly.
Temporal creatures known as the Howlers came through to protect the rift
but with the able arms of Doman, Inagin, Sidd, Tanel, Renthur, Alef and
others, they were able to repel the attacks, giving Kiradawea Startail
enough time to enter the closing sequence which shut the rift.

After the near-catastrophe was averted, Irima Ironwing revealed that the
Ministry of Peace once housed the guild known as the Sentinel Company of
Temporal Anomalies (commonly called the Time Sentinels), whose initial
mandate was to monitor and protect the timestream. Apparently, the
Matrix has always been somewhat unstable and was of the cause of
temporal anomalies. With the Matrix reopened, the need for the Sentinels
cannot be denied, and thus Irima Ironwing has reopened the Sentinels
Guild.
