Death

We've finished a thorough review of player death and experience rewards
from killing another player and have made some adjustments in the base
formulas that will probably not be noticeable when killing a
non-Demigod/Ascendant. However, you should notice some dramatic
differences if you kill a Demigod or Ascendant. The only exception to
that is if you kill an Ascendant who does not have enough essence to
resurrect--in that case you will only receive a very small experience
reward, though it may comfort you to know that Ascendant will be
spending some time reforming.
The other change is if a Demigod or Ascendant dies in enemy territory.
While normal players have double experience loss when dying in enemy
territory, Demigods and Ascendants had no such penalty. That is now
changed! Demigods and Ascendants who die in enemy territory will
immediately receive an additional penalty, calculated as 5% of their
total essence with a minimum of 500,000 and a maximum of 2 million.
