Announce News Post #744

Shrines and Karma

There has been a major change to the way shrine powers work: You can now
use personal karma to beseech your God for individual shrine powers!

What this means is that any shrine power that affects you individually
(ie, is not an area- or order-wide affect) can have its cost drawn from
your karma rather than your God's essence if you so desire. The amount
of karma used will depend upon the power you are beseeching. To do this,
use the syntax: BESEECH <god> FOR <power> [WITH KARMA]

As an aside, the change to Brumetower reported in my last post has been
reversed. There was some confusion over this, but it was actually an
envoy change and not a bug that led to Brumetower affecting people in
the trees. The messages given have been made more clear to prevent this
confusion from occurring again. Also, you can now see a Brumetower when
it is active in a room (given that it is a massive tower of shadows, I'm
not sure how you could manage to miss it before!).

Enjoy!
