Two trill hunters, Aiella Ironwing and Viric Longfeather, tracked a pair
of rabid tigers into the Basin. These white tigers had ravaged their
village, killing their mates and children. Having developed a taste for
humanoid flesh, the tigers invaded the cities of Celest and Magnagora,
which was thrown into chaos as these tigers made sudden attacks on their
respective citizens. The trill hunters split apart, each tracking a
different tiger, Aiella Ironwing to Magnagora and Viric Longfeather to
Celest. These trill hunters asked for help from the citizens there to
put down these dangerous beasts.
About this time, a strange aslaran druid from outside the Basin named
Mraxin, Keeper of the Dawn, appeared before the druids of Hartstone and
Blacktalon. This druid was hunting the trill hunters, trying to save the
tigers which were the last two of an endangered species. Bringing the
druids together, they agreed to work together to try and save these
tigers.
However, they were too late. Led by the trill hunters, both tigers were
killed in Celest and Magnagora. Overjoyed, the trill hunters offered to
teach their skills of hunting and tracking to the Paladins and ur'Guard,
who readily accepted.
Meanwhile, the now distraught druid Mraxin wandered the forests of the
Basin, raging against the hunters. However, he made an important
discovery--the two white tigers had been trying to hide two tiger cubs.
These cubs were hidden, one in Glomdorig and one in Serenwilde. He
begged Hartstone and Blacktalon to help track them down, which they did.
Once the tiger cubs were recovered, Mraxin taught the druids the skills
of hunting and ecology, and taught the Serenguard and Ebonguard hunting
and tracking. Those druids who learned ecology were charged with
maintaining the delicate balance of nature.
