As the months passed since the Great Ascension, Ayridion the White Flame
slowly grew into His newfound powers, learning what it was to bear the
mantle of divinity. Though His memories of His mortal heritage were
faded and shrouded, Ayridion knew there was one divinity Soll had
particularly admired, and that was Isune, the Aesthete. Once confident
in His divine powers, He reached forth to sense Her presence. To his
great surprise and delight, He felt Her barely tangible presence.
Overjoyed, Ayridion began a fevered search to find Her, thinking perhaps
She was imprisoned and weak.

Ayridion commanded His Order to help seek out a weakening in the aethers
where He sensed Isune's presence. Metea and Sipelus Peulus led an
expedition to find this weakening, soon followed by a flock of
Celestians and members of the Glomdoring. Finally, the search revealed a
quivering veil of energy within the Razine Mountains. Ayridion rose
above the Basin and struck at veil with a blistering energy, intent to
release Isune from whatever held Her. The air began to warp and
separate, followed by a massive explosion that shook the earth. In its
wake rose a wavering apparition that bore a striking semblance to the
missing Goddess.

The apparition made clear that Isune was not to be disturbed, but if
they were intent on finding Her, they must prove they were not
malicious. Paintings had to be created on the subjects that Isune the
Aesthete held close to Her heart, mostly the paintings of birds that
bore Her touch, and the sunsets and sunrises She had painted. Finally
convinced of their true intention by creating art that showed facets of
She Who Was Once the Wings of Compassion, the apparition opened the way
to the cave where she could be found, but not before giving a grave
warning.

Despite the warnings, Ayridion and the mortals who followed proceeded to
strip away these defenses. The defences came in many varied forms,
reflecting Isune's inner essence of being a mistress of artistry and
beauty. Crystalline statues broke apart and formed into Isune's beloved
pet, the avian creature known as Volucer. Strange phantasms were
released, great illusions that lurked just upon the edge of reality.
Even two dimensional painted figures came to life, defending the seal
behind which Isune slept. Each of these defenses were eventually
defeated by the combined efforts of Ayridion and the mortal gathering.

When finally the seal broke, a gateway opened that led the way to Isune.
It was a wyrden glade hidden within the folds of the ethereal realm
where a bed enclosed in a crystal shell held Isune's slumbering form.
Ayrdion sought desperately to open the crystal shell, but in doing so, a
great energy was released, tearing through the area as Isune's
nightmares sought to manifest. With dawning understanding, Ayrdion
realised that Isune Herself wove defences to protect Herself while She
deeply slumbered. She would not awaken until She so choose, and nothing
He could do could revive Her from this self-imposed sleep. All He had
done was strip away the defences that protected Her. Ayrdion asked the
mortals to guard Her glade until He had time to build a safer sanctuary,
and raise His own defences around Her.

Before He could do this, the Order of Legion descended upon the glade
and defiled the ground around the crystal shell around Isune with
chalices of blood. An audience gathered and watched, some with interest
and some with horror, as great rivulets of blood saturated the soil.
Eventually, Morgfyre rose from the depths of darkness and began to
consume the slumbering Lady. A beacon of light called forth Ayridion,
warning Him of imminent danger.

A seething battle ensued between Elder and newborn Divinity, reflected
in the basin with their mortal followers battling amongst themselves. In
time, luck lay on the side of the young as Ayrdion was finally able to
cast back Morgfyre the Legion. As Morgfyre sunk back down into the
darkness, Ayridion's proclaimed that any who challenged Isune would
first meet His full powers. His watch would be absolute and unending,
portenting a great wrath should the Glade of the Sleeping Goddess be
disturbed again.
