Friends. I understand the exigencies of the public health crisis and
that strong measures are required to contain the plague that until
recently had affected us all. I, who gave my life recently as cannon
fodder joining an attempt to kill one of the creatures threatening the
basin.

However. We of this city ought to prize our Freedom more than most. I
did not appreciate, upon my return to the Basin, being immediately
threatened with violence by fellow citizens and guildmates - Esoeyuna
and Tedd Cassius - who barely took a moment to explain themselves before
threatening me with violence. It seems to me that among those who love
Freedom, a moment's explanation and respect, even in times of great
danger, is warranted.

After all, those who sacrifice Liberty for security deserve neither
liberty nor security.

I thank Archprelate Caerulo for his kind intervention and for his
assistance in obtaining the cure.

For Freedom,
Learius the Bewildered

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Avechary, in the year 284 CE.
