Skyscribes Design Competition
Written by: Minister Daraius Shevat
Date: Saturday, February 19th, 2011
Addressed to: Everyone
Greetings, good citizens.
As the recently elected Trademaster of the Skyscribes, I am pleased to
announce the commencement of a bookbinding design contest. With the
distribution of this announcement, the contest is officially open for
submissions, and will run until the first of Vestian, year 291 C.E. In
addition to monetary prizes for the first, second, and third place
designs (as chosen by Peer review, per Culture Article IV), the Ministry
of Cultural Affairs will be offering a token of the city's esteem to
winning designer. The precise value of monetary prizes will be announced
at a later date, pending Board approval.
Any bookbinding pattern, with the exception of stamps, will be accepted,
and all designs of merit will be submitted to the Charites for approval
as public or cartel designs. Citizens are especially encouraged to
consider origami and stationery designs, as the current selection in
these categories is particularly sparse. Permissible design types
include:
~ origami
~ stationery
~ scroll and pamphlet
~ journal and textbook
~ book and compendium
~ manual and codex
~ tome and omnibus
~ glass, cup, bottle, and vial
Multiple entries are allowed, but no designer will be awarded more than
one prize.
Please submit all entries via letter to Daraius Shevat. Submissions must
indicate all relevant descriptions and commodities, and must be signed.
Please also direct any questions to me.
I look forward to witnessing the outpouring of creativity from our
talented citizenry.
Yours in service,
~ Daraius Shevat
