Dear Serenwilde,
On behalf of the Collective and myself, I commend you on your bravery. It must not have been easy to accept Magnagora as your ally, even though they have provided more for you than New Celest and Glomdoring ever have. Soon the Engine will, perhaps, begin to match Hallifax's generosity and camaraderie as it was years ago.
I offer you congratulations for continuing to stand against Kethuru's catastrophic weapon reborn, the Taint given Nature's energy and directive to grow, expand, consume. You have chosen not to emulate Gaudiguch and Celest; those within may as well allow their cities to be wyrded and pledge their loyalty to the Master Ravenwood - such is their willful dependence and deference to Glomdoring. Further demonstrated by the forked-tongue manipulations certain parties have been levying at your commune, of course. You have chosen to remain a sovereign state among powerful entities, defying those who have confused alliances with servitude and allowed their ideals to be subsumed by wyrd. You have embraced being true to yourselves in a way that Glomdoring and its cities will never understand.
I thank you for not forsaking Hallifax and the many years we stood together as New Celest so eagerly did to you in the name of Glomdoring. Unlike your enemies, I will not encourage you, coerce you, threaten you to flee from your homes, for that would truly be the only betrayal you could offer to your forest. Trust in your home, and in your leaders, and live so free and pure that your enemies envy you, and know that the respect that comes from the Collective comes from a recognition of your resolve in the face of such terrible evil.
Be not afraid or ashamed of your decision. You are not an island adrift in this adversity. No longer will you be mistreated by sophists who promise much but provide little. The Collective stands with you.
Walk in dawn's radiance and bask in your noble defiance.

P.S. Everyone in the Basin of Life knows full well that the forests forbid the culling of fae in their treaties. All harming of the fae and Maeve is effectively illegal. In no way should you believe that New Celest somehow has a high ground over Magnagora in regards to fae safety - they have the same tools to enslave fae and have done so in the past. Of course, to please the forests, the cities of the Basin defer their claim to fae to the forests. As has been for many, many decades. An easy choice to make for the beginnings of friendship and trust. So it goes.
