I am trying to decide on a guild, but the single paragraph about each doesnt really tell me about the gameplay and the purpose of each.

If there are no skill lists, could someone give examples of their powers and abilities?

Specifically I am interested in moondancer and hartstone.

Moondancers are overpowered and get tons of neat controllable "entities" that do all sorts of viscious things to people.

Druids are able to set up an area of a forest as their "demesne" and have many powers that work within that area.

And Nihilists are sexy.

Moondancers get Nature, Totems, and either Healing or Hexes as their guildskills. Nature gets specialized into Wicca later on and Totems gets specialized into Moon.

Hartstone get Nature, Totems, and Runes as their guildskills. Nature gets specialized into Druidry and Totems gets specialized into Stag.

Join the Nihilists!

Would you tell me about the Nihilists please, then I'll think on joining them *hum*

Nihilists are based on Magnagora (enough of a reason for joining)

They get Cosmic, Rituals, and either Tarot or Hexes for their guildskills. Cosmic specializes into Nihilism, which allows them to summon varoius pets from the Planes of Nil, among other benefits. Rituals specializes into Necromancy, which allows them to use darkchants to power them up in various ways.

Don't join Hartstone for the skills.

If I find one person joining Nihilists for the skills, I'll outguild them in a heartbeat. Take time to learn the meaning of the guilds before learning about their skills.

I just gave insight. It's up to them to join or not. If they choose to join, then they must have a reason other than skills. Hell, if they want the skills, Celestines have similar skills to Nihilists. It's a matter of whether you're willing to uphold the history of the guild, and are willing to spread the Taint.

Generally, the Hartstone are the mage-types of Serenwilde, they take care of the forest it's self, etc. The Moondancers are the guardian-types, and take care of Serenwilde's spirtual needs. But really no one's been holding too closely to that, or at least not that I've been paying attention to.
Gaetele2004-10-30 19:42:13
Serenwilde is too unorganized to know who's doing what. From the idea of the Serendefe to the scramble for villages, the leadership of Serenwilde has its hands full with an anarchy.

Why give labels and jobs? Why do one set of people have to be labeled the priests, and the other set the mages? We're quite organized, we know where we stand, and those among us know where we stand.

The Hartstone don't conform to mage, or priest or warrior or so forth. We are Druids.

... I dont know if the comment about "joining for skills" was directed at me. I just wanted to understand the nature of the gameplay.
