I think an amphibian sounds correct. Toad I like a lot.

On a more serious note, perhaps the truant totem would be Owl, Bobcat, Turtle, or Heron? They seem appropriate for a forest located near the mountains (for the first two) and near water (for the last two), and none can be bonded with at this time.
Heron or turtle, giving the ability to either fish or search for roots in fresh water (like forage, but in water) would be awesome. It would also make me feel like less of a "forestal"... sure, I know all about nature, but if I'm in a valley I'll starve! (Squirrel would also acceptably represent the trend I see in the Ackleberry taking.)

Ackleberry was home to allthe "animal" races, Tae'dae, Furrkin, Lobs, even the giants, igasho or something. I have myideas of what Ackleberry is from reading the blurbs about it over and over and letting my imagination run wild. Hopefully more talks with my Goddess will reveal more to Hayden as he digs deeper.

Actually I believe the Igasho were from the hills/mountains nearby. When Lolly Pringle sees the army forming outside the Ackleberry, she mentions seeing some Igasho and how happy she was to see the gentle giants come down from the mountains to help. I could be wrong on that, gonna have to read it again.

Lolly was a he, I believe. Although it's easy to get confused sometimes.
Unknown2004-11-04 18:14:11
Aye, the giants were from the mountains surrounding but the fact that they were there means the Ackleberry was at least considered a second home to them.
Devris2004-11-05 05:56:38
umm, if it was a second home to them, why was Lolly so surprised to see them come down from the moutains. I believe he is furrikin and knew everyone in Ackleberry (when he said he remembers Gib as a child).
Oh well, nonetheless, I hope the second spirit is something good...I assume it has to be something decent when you compare it to White Hart and Crow/Raven. The mystery may be solved someday...*shifty*

I'm just waiting until a second commune forms. As much as I'd love to see the Ackleberry, I'm honestly expecting the Glomdoring. Things are in place there to a large degree, with a Mother tree (even has a planar gate to Ethereal built in), two spirits and quests. I could imagine newbies though, "Hey, what's this spider?" *kick spider* *spider webs them, bites them, they die* "Ow!"
Devris2004-11-05 17:36:46
I dunno about the Glomdoring being the first commune to come in, mainly due to the fact that would negate those who hope to one day untaint it. The Gloriana river is still fresh and clean, giving hope to MANY who are trying to change it back. Making a "commune" there absolutely shatters any hope for what could be an awesome RP event/battle to try and save the forest.
Devris2004-11-05 17:37:59
Also, the Ackleberry commune is whole somewhere (if still existing) so all it would need is some building and an RP event to bring it back. Either commune needs building to complete (an actual commune built) but I think the Ackleberry has many less hurdles and depletes RP less to bring back.
Unknown2004-11-05 17:38:02
Working on Ackleberry but its probably farther from Glom with Vis's little RP coming up, gonna be funny to see all the zombie and beetle deaths.
Devris2004-11-05 17:39:35
We need to chat in game then Hayden, I've been talking to almost every mobile I can find to get info on the Ackleberry. I'm not all into being the leader of it when returning, just really want to help out more than anything!

Actually, building a commune in Glom wouldn't hurt the RP at all.. i mean... who says that a city/commune can't actually be destroyed/converted in this game? I think that would be awesome, to have a city actually leveled and its citizens become rogues for awhile as they work towards finding a new location to rebuild and such.
As it stands, Serenwilde is sort of in limbo. It has no real enemies (though, perhaps the New Celest incident changes that) and no real purpose since their sort of panzies when it comes to fighting civilization. The Glom commune could easily be more geurilla like, taking the fight to the cities and sticking it to them. It would also give Serenwilde and enemy, while giving Magnagora an ally (maybe even have it be connected to Magnagora somehow.. like a super village). Surely those who are worshipping Tainted spirits aren't quite as tree-hugging hippie-esque as the Wilders, so they aren't just going to let Serenwilde purge the taint... but that doesn't mean its not possible.
