What are your opinions on the changeling race? I personally think it's a massive oppurtunity for some amazing rp. If I could only get me hands on 1000 credits...
Obviously there's a lot of room for discussion here, but I'm too tired to start ideas. All you brilliant people out there, start the discussion.

It's an interesting roleplay opportunity to be sure....the only thing is, Felemar is too set in his race and background to want to be anything else. I had given though to becoming tae'dae or something of the sort when I became an ur'Guard but I basically came to the conclusion that my history and my roleplay is more important than power and I am sticking through it so, the changeling wouldn't be an option for me.

IC, Cronus dislikes reincarnation. After all, you don't choose which race you are born as, why should you be able to choose whatever race you want to be if you get bored?
The Changeling race, OOC, could be good for rp, yes. But what if somebody changes and doesn't change their description. Baaad.

I'm a shapeshifter in Achaea, and such a wonderful gift is completely wasted in terms of RP by some people. On the other hand, it's kinda sad that in Achaea, you don't become a new race, you just get a pretty rock. *sigh*
I'd love to be able to RP a changeling in Lusternia, as you can actually say that you are a RACE and not just an artie-whore... But I don't have another 1000 credits to spare. *sigh sigh sigh!!!*

There's a couple of changelings out there... whether they choose to let themselves be known as changelings is another story!

I love the concept of being a changeling. I'm still working on how to fit it into Mordrin's character and trying to write a description that will fit him as any race, but it's going to be a lot of fun.
Shamarah2004-11-02 22:30:00
You could probably just write a description for each race, then trigger it to change when you morph to that race. Unless you're jsut too lazy, of course.
Unknown2004-11-02 22:46:44
Mordrin, it might be a little hard to write a description that is viable for every single race. You'd have to be pretty vague if you want to look like a huge tae'dae, and a trill, at the same time.

I want a description that fits the personality, something that would show through regardless of race as I would assume a changeling has a lot of control over their form. I'm not going to go into race specific features such as 'is very tall' or 'has really nice wings' because that wouldn't make any sense.
Richter2004-11-03 05:29:51
I thought the (Male undead changeling master viscanti) was kinda funny.
Daganev2004-11-03 05:37:46
I say, make a new description for each race, but have a certain eye color that stays the same, or a certain smirk.
to make one description that explains all, would leave out your physcial description, if you want your description to match your stats.

Rilandria2004-11-03 06:00:55
Wait, isn't Changeself basically the same thing? Or do you actually get all the different racial bonuses if you're a changeling?
Sorry, I'm not an IRE person so I don't know what this concept is

Daganev2004-11-03 06:05:36
There is an artifact gem that allows you to become any race as if that is your normal race, giving you all bonuses and minuses. Lusternia made that more IC by turning you into the changinling race if you wear the gem.

Hmm, I kinda like that idea actually. *ponder* Guess I'll have to think about it.
Asarnil2004-11-03 09:28:25
Personally I think having Changelings be able to shift into some sort of natural form (even if it only had human stats) would be way cooler.
Unknown2004-11-04 19:30:16
A different description for each race is what I do. I've got a description for every race, and instead of putting in a trigger, I just copy and paste from notepad because I's lazeh.
Hiriako2004-11-05 15:37:31
I'm waiting until I get my bonus in a few weeks, but I fully intend to purchase a cameo of the changeling, and RP Hiriako as a changeling...including seperate descs for every single race (save perhaps Viscanti and Orclach which he would never assume the form of). I can't wait to get it though, it's going to be a lot of fun.
Typhus2004-11-05 16:48:08
Having a base race description for a changling sort of makes them lose their mystery you know?
Ialie2005-05-09 15:59:33
I swear that I would buy a cameo right this momment if it were possible to change every INGAME day.
I wouldn't care if it cost 10 power to change, took eq balance, didn't heal your health, couldn't change in the middle of battle, had to have full health and mana and so on. I just want to be able to change once per month.
PLEASE!
