Just a note, I wasn't implying that Celest doesn't work hard. I apologize if it was taken in that way.

Apology accepted.

Exhale everyone, it's just a game and means absolutely nothing once you get up from your chair.

... Only Serenwilde leadership knows what Serenwilde will do in the world but to this switching sides thing, I been in alot of serenwilde groups that have fought magnagora over many different things, Serenwilde has not aided celest or mag in this war and they shouldn't

No, Serenwilde should most definitely get their asses involved with this conflict and save New Celest. For the Game's sake, AND it would fit in with RP.. i mean.. Magnagora represents Civilization AND Taint, while Celest is just Civilization.. I personally don't see HOW Serenwilde can side with Magnagora in any fashion, yet crush Crow once he is painstakingly raised.. i mean.. it was the Taint that corrupted and created the Glomdoring... so yeah.. come on Serenwilde.. join with New Celest so that Magnagora can be a little less cruel to the poor city of light!
Raiha2004-11-21 01:56:38
Bah, Serenwilde doesn't owe New Celest anything, why should we side with you?
Unknown2004-11-21 02:16:49
I'm a celest and I will be giving history about serenwilde, something wrong with this picture! anyways. Serenwilde Has not sided with Magnagora or Celest from what I seen, treaties and what not are not considered alliances but more like you don't kill this and we own't kill you. as for Serenwilde helping celest for saving the game. Serenwilde's nature is to remain netural in this conflict unless magnagora ordered the destruction of serenwilde, faes or anything serenwilde holds dear. I wish Serenwilde would help celest, but won't be mad if they don't because its their nature to stay out. and the crow is a evil recarination of the raven, of course they will pound the crap out of it!
Ulath2004-11-21 02:19:01
I do not recall anyone from Celest asking for it.
Unknown2004-11-21 02:25:17
Unless celest finds a way to use magnagora's strength against them, either we go up in flames, we give up or serenwilde aides us. whatever the out come is, it will have fire works, whee!!

I know I haven't read all the history and such, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Celest responsible for the Taint being released in the first place? I mean, yeah, Magnagora lives it and loves it, but isn't Celest responsible for it? Even if they are trying to clean it up now?

QUOTE (Lusternia History)
“No!” snapped the High Priestess of the Moon. “Serenwilde will not ally with Celest. We will never trust Celest again.

Is that a good reason not to ally with Celest? They shouldn't ally with either.
Eldanien2004-11-21 03:29:42
And the Emperor embraced the Taint.

So... Celest should? Are we our past? If you can't affect change in the world, what's the point of striving?

If any organization is unable to think beyond what their past indicates, then the world will stagnate pretty darn quick, I'd think.
Unknown2004-11-21 03:33:16
History isn't something that can be alter or changed, Serenwilde was hurt most by the taint because two of their great spirits were tainted and two of their forest were lost. Perhaps in the future Serenwilde will maybe help celest but until then they will only fight mag celest or anyone else if they prove a threat to serenwilde
Unknown2004-11-21 03:35:02
True, but didn't Serenwilde just come out of a self-imposed isolation? One that lasted for a loooooooooooong time? Sounds like they had plenty of time to allow their mistrust to deepen and set in stone. I just think it'd be a little odd for them to be all like 'Hey, never mind all that! Let's be friends!' People don't work that way most of the time. Maybe one day, but so soon?
Eldanien2004-11-21 03:48:43
They just came out of a loooooooooooong isolation. Obviously, something has changed. So soon? Took them a loooooooooooong time, right? tongue.gif

I think that too many people make the assumption that our roles in the world are set in stone. Perhaps it is. I'd hate to think that such is the case, though.
Eldanien2004-11-21 03:58:56
I don't mean to suggest that the Serenwilde join forces with Celest. IC, Eldanien would love to see that. OOC, I think it may detract from the intended balances of the game. However, I'd rather not see people assume that the past somehow shackles the present. Things change. I find it irksome when people point at events in the past and say 'this is how it's going to be'. Look and see how even in the past, viewpoints changed. People change.
Unknown2004-11-21 03:59:10
I don't think it should be like "hey, lets be friends" but, it would be nice to see Serenwilde go "Hm.. do we really want to be the next target for Magnagora? Celest is trying to get rid of the Taint.. they might be able to help us cure Mother Night and Brother Crow... and if Magnagora does lose, Celest probably won't crush us for kicks.. which Magnagora most definitely will." Really, all logic says that Serenwilde helping Celest will be the best chance for survival... because, face it, Magnagora won't let Serenwilde remain all fluffy and un-harvested after it grinds Celest into dust.
Unknown2004-11-21 04:00:33
Serenwilde is acting pretty much the same to both Celest and Magnagora. From what I can see the leadership is being reasonable with both, but putting our (Serenwilde's) interests first, as they should.

The idea that Serenwilde should ally with Celest just because Celest can't handle Magnagora at the moment is pretty ridiculous, btw.
Unknown2004-11-21 04:01:57
Just like they didnt 'backstab' them with rockholm? (how I always heard it refered to while I was in the commune.
Yes, Serenwilde has lots of reasons to ally with New Celest.
Like the fae girl for example.

Honestly guys, there is no reason at all for Serenwilde to ally.
Dritex2004-11-21 04:46:24
Actually, the smartest thing for Serenwilde to do, would be to train up and keep themselves on full alertness. Then keep back,a nd let teh two cities blow themselves to pieces.

When finally one city wins out and demolishes the other, the Seren then imidiately, without any delay at all, jump on the city that won. They will have surprise on tehir side, as well as fresh to fight warriors who are not tired from any battle.

In this way, they could theoretically, completely whipe out civilzation. And isn't that what they truly want? Both cities gone?

If only it were not for a fact that at the fall of the empire the High Priestess of the Serenwilde swore as follows:

“No!” snapped the High Priestess of the Moon. “Serenwilde will not ally with Celest. We will never trust Celest again. I have told you what we will do. You are welcome to come to the safety of the Serenwilde but do not expect us to help any city ever again.”

Therefor those who pursue an ally with any of the stonedwellers are Oathbreakers.

Celest, Hallifax, Magnagora and Gaudiguch are the ones responsible for releasing the Taint, all of them worked together on the project that unintentionally released the Taint, none of the cities could have done it on their own...THAT is why the forests hate the cities, cause ALL the cities were guilty of releasing the Taint, instead of listening to Rowena from Gloriana (since Serenwilde didn't seem to care much at all) when she warned every city, one by one, to NOT work on the project, but they didn't listen, they ALL helped establishing it. So it's completely rediculous what I hear some Serenwilders say: Magnagora didn't release it! They're just poor victims, Celest did it!
