Just wanted to know why you need to be 18 for it. I missed it by a year.
Silvanus2004-11-28 02:14:21
I believe in old Achaea there was a God that was 16 years old, and happened to explode and was just completely immature. You know, those 16 year olds and their mood swings.

It's actually an Ephemeral age limit, not builder.. You can be a mortal builder at any age(least in other games)..
It's probably due to a need to sign an NDA, some bad experiences they had in other games, and legal responsibility.
I only missed it by a few months

I missed it by... quite a bit. I'm fifteen. Crazy, huh?
Unknown2004-11-28 02:29:08
Woo 15 year olds.
I was bummed by the age limit... for about a minute.
Its usually more fun to play than to work. And it certainly is fun to play .

I wouldn't have applied anyway. Like Clotho says (Or Lachesis, whoever), there are too many loose threads to end it now
Unknown2004-11-28 02:54:16
Damn young people.
At the grizzled old age of 18 I do not have enough time to apply.

damn I feel old, anyways, the age limit is for legal reasons. Both NDA and appropriateness and such.
I'm really hoping the people I talk to in game are 18+ if not, theirs some really cooky kids in here.

20 here, but I'm having too much fun playing right now. Maybe in the future, when I tire of playing. Although, if they start accepting builders (not Ephemerals), I'm quite interested.
Unknown2004-11-28 03:56:46
I'm also mildly bummed about the Ephemeral age limit, but hey, I'll probably get tired of playing and want to do something new about the time I turn 18 anyway (~1.25 years from now), so I guess I'll apply then. In the meantime, I'll keep brewing potions.
And, because I like this smiley:

What, is there an age requirement on being an internet recluse now as well? Bah!

Unless here is different from other places, only coders have to sign NDA's. I think it is due partialy about the 16 yo Celani on Achaea(happen to know him, hehe), and also partialy do to the fact that those in that power do have the ability to do things that could bring legal action against them.
Jack2004-11-28 15:25:12
16 here (17 in January), and in my opinion, ya can't really have minors signing legally-binding documents. Doesn't bother me, anywho. I wouldn't mind contributing towards the building aspect of things (writing being a passion of mine), but I wouldn't be able to invest enough time in the whole venture. (And I can't program anything. Ever.)

NDA's are given out whenever IRE feels the need to protect information. I've signed one on more than one occasion.
Frankly, I would be far too scared to abuse Estarra's trust anyway. She looks nice and funny, but it's all an act! *looks around nervously*

pah I was an internet recluse from the day I was born, despite having yet actually been privy to the internet yet. No thats not what I'm talking about...
Rauros2004-11-29 15:50:25
I feel like a grumpy old man at 21.
Kerrida2004-11-29 16:07:39
Bah.. 23 here.. no time.. sheesh all of you that order from Walmart.com (or whos parents do) for christmas gifts best appreciate the hard work we do to get your stuff to you in time.. OI! 52hrs a week is not fun.... Ah well.. elast I can unwind by playing
Unknown2004-11-29 16:47:38
Although I realize there are certain limits, it annoys me no end when people claim young people cannot be mature. Certainly, nobody would be able to tell I'm probably one of the youngest players.
Rauros2004-11-29 16:51:28
And people (like me) who are immature and still one of the older players.
