I expect that there will be some changes to address these concerns sometime within the next few days.

Agreed. The sheer amounts of totally unneeded swearing I get in tells is starting to tick me off. This is just a game, and even if your character would spam me with f**k you over and over in tells, it gets old quick and although I have done a little swearing before, it's never got to the sheer amount I get in return.
You should hear what comes out of Rafael's mouth when someone kills him or he's annoyed at something.

It's mentioned before, but Magnagora attacking Serenwilde would push it in the right direction for starters, but they probably won't, cause then they wouldn't get cheap alchemy anymore...which is the only reason they let Serenwilde have Estelbar and Dairuchi far as I can tell. People just don't have a single reason to join or stay Celest, not a single village, hated by Serenwilde cause we killed 3 Fae, crushed by Magnagora, the guards are so weak Mags can just come in, kill all guards and kill whoever they like inside, so it's not even safe if you just stay within the citywalls all day... there is absolutely no reason to be a Celestian except for people that like RP'ing a good guy that opposes all evil, or something. Course I don't mind all that, I'm enjoying myself either way, but it stings to see all my citymates leave the city for Magnagora and Serenwilde or even quit the game entirely. Making the entire prime plane a safe zone won't help either, most pk'ers will quit Lusternia if that happens, including me, fighting on prime is fun cause there's a reason to fight, raiding Angkrag to recover enslaved miners, defending your other villages, etc, the whole "territory" thing. I can't find a single reason I should fight Mags on the outter planes except when they try to kill a Supernal...
The reason there aren't any wars and RP is officially dead in Achaea, is cause there's just NO point in having any conflicts, nothing can be gained, there's just no reason to.

Hmm strange I still play Achaea and RP in a regular basis. As for Magnagoran pummeling Celest. Well Im on the Celest side but being an Achaean who has long lived in Shallam and seen how Mhaldor and even Ashtan fare against Shallam, specifically if Cyrene aids shallam, well there is not much to say. Shallam has a great number of powerful and able fighters.
So whats the diffrence. Well Shallam doesnt spend all of its time raiding Mhaldor so theres a balance somewhat.
But hey its part of RP Magnagora is supposed to be big and bad an look to be the Ruling Empire it is. Conquest should be a great part of Magnagora. Spreading the taint and all. So Celest is in some harsh times? I see that as a challenge. Most people just flock to Mag or quit? Well they have the right to head to Mag but I find that rather sad, it requires more challenge to be a Celestian then being a Magnagorian one, and I for one like challenges.
If Magnagora has an ally from Serene then Hallifax should be an ally of Celest at least to balance things out a bit. I doubt Mag would do any truce with Celest as Mag should be exactly the way it is right now. Its an Empire who spreads the Taint im unsure why they would offer any truce. Now as a Celestian what Celest needs is to rally up and get organized. A bit hard since most people dont seem to take it as a challenge like I do and instead quit the game.
At one time I was offered to join Magnagora, not by any of the big names but by various of their less but still loyal followers. I turned down becuase Im not into the All Ruling Evil aspect. Although it might be a good idea to be on the Winning Side, Im not that kind of person I prefer my challenge in Celest. Maybe one day Celest will rise out from Mag's shadow and balance things out... But right now thats a big IF

You all keep saying well if they ally with them, these people should ally with these guys to make it far. This is politics, run by people. Life isn't fair, people will ally with whom they feel it is best. Think about it, Hallifax comes in, if they are going to ally with anyone, do they want to be on the losing side, or the winning? hmmm
Rhysus2004-11-29 17:34:51
Agreeing with Val on this one. It's absurd to automatically expect a new city to just seek to help balance the world out. They'll do what is best for them, just as everyone else does. And we won't know what that is until it happens. Speculation beyond that is relatively useless.

Given what was going on when Hallifax (and Gaudiguch) were frozen in time, it would be nearly impossible for them to ally with Magnagora without some serious lapses in logic.
I can see them being self-serving and possibly not allying with Celest. On the other hand, they may want to seek alliance with -someone- before their counterpart (Gaudiguch or Hallifax) also becomes un-frozen because it's likely that the two cities will be at each others throats once both are in the present. Given Serenwilde's feelings regarding cities and Hallifax/Gaudiguch's opposition to the Taint, the most logical -someone- is Celest.
But then, once you get players involved, anything can happen

I just can't wait to see the inevitable -
'Heya, great-great-great-great-gramps! You've been frozen in time for centuries! I'm your descendent, Hazar! Let's go bash Gaudiguch!'
'Wuh?'
