Does anyone have an accurate list of the amount of lessons it takes to go from one skill level to the next? Total number of lessons at each rank works, too.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

I was wondering this same question a while back, but I bothered my Achaean friends and, (if it's the same amount here), the totals are:
9 to novice (9)
9 to apprentice (18)
18 to capable (36)
54 to adept (90)
90 to master (180)
And then for specialisations and/or more than master:
111 to gifted (291)
132 to expert (423)
180 to virtuoso (603)
312 to fabled (915)
375 to mythical (1290
450 to transcendant (1740).
I'll just have to delete all this if it turns out it's not the same as Achaea, but just go off that for now I guess. *g*

Hm, thanks. I think the first half is fairly accurate. I don't know about the second half, but it could be right.
Unknown2004-11-28 17:59:28
On a vaguely-related topic, do you have to transfer lessons from a parent pool to a secondary pool (e.g. from spirit to mysticism), in order to use the parent lessons in the secondary pool? For example, if I forget influence, transfer from magnetism to empathy, then from empathy to spirit, do I have to transfer from spirit to mysticism to use those lessons for Celestialism? If so, is there a penalty for transferring downwards?

The first half, and then a bit more, until I ran out of lessons and things... (he's holding a list, geddit?)
Inept (start at 0%)
-- 1 lesson = 16% approx
-- 7 lessons to Novice
Novice (start at 5%)
-- 1 lesson = 11/12% approx
-- 9 lessons to Apprentice
Apprentice (start at 3%)
-- 1 lesson = 5/6% approx
-- 18 lessons to Capable
Capable
-- 15 lessons = 27% approx
-- 56 lessons to Adept
Adept
-- 15 lessons = 17% approx
-- 87 lessons to 99% (best you can get as a novice)
-- 88 lessons to Master
Master
-- 15 lessons = 13% approx
-- 113 lessons to Gifted (approx)
Gifted
-- 15 lessons = 11% approx
-- 135 lessons to Expert
Expert
-- 15 lessons = 9%
-- 176 lessons to Virtuoso
Just so long as no-one posts any lists of the actual skills, because they ruin all the surprise...

Is this entirely independent of the number of lessons you learn at a time? I'd assume it is, given that there's no myrrh or anything like that, but I'd just like to make sure before I start telling people otherwise.

Pretty much, except at the end if you have, say, 7 lessons worth that you need to learn to get to trans, and you learn 15 lessons, well.. just don't do that.
Unknown2004-11-29 22:12:28
It is, unless you're a freshman novice. If you try to learn past 100% adept (or whatever the limit is), the remaining lessons go back to your total available lessons, I believe. Otherwise, they just go right to the next level.
On a somewhat-related note, do regular (non-freshmen) novices have the same limits? That is, are they limited to 100% adept and no specialization?

Shiri2004-11-29 22:58:35
Yeah, Non-Freshmen Novices do have that limit. Actually, they can pick the master specialisation, but they can't learn anything past the first skill in it. So like, a Celestine will know wings, but no more.
Richter2004-11-29 23:44:11
Sierus recently informed me that from 0 to full trans was a little under 1600 lessons. A surprise to me, but that's what he said.
Ekard2004-11-29 23:59:46
I think it would be 1725 lessons for trans.
Flow2004-11-30 11:42:32
1740 on achaea. In sets of 15, though, so it could be anywhere from 1726 to that.
Thorgal2004-11-30 11:45:04
I'm inclined to believe Richter, everytime I thought I'd need an X amount of lessons more to trans, it turned out I needed less.

Someone in my guild did a lesson count, and I think it was 1 lesson at a time, but I could be mistaken. His final count came to 1715 for Inept to Transcendent.
I made myself a little script based on his counts to tell me how many lessons I need to get to the next level in every single skill (helps me when deciding what to learn next, given the number of lessons I have available), and it's been right on every time so far.

Oh my! Is he recovering well?
Unknown2004-11-30 20:25:37
Bahahaha. One at a time? I'm inclined not to believe that.
Unknown2004-11-30 20:46:44
You don't need to go one at a time anyway. Once you get to... Adept, just go in groups of 15, asking a teacher after each lesson, then when you get to 90%-95%, go slower.
But yeah, i'm pretty sure lessons needed the same as Achaea when you were using myrrh. Does anyone else love how they got rid of myrrh? Back in Achaea, it was like, "Oh, sh...oot, I forgot myrrh. Would suiciding be a better option than buying credits to make up for the lessons I missed?"

Myrrh was an instrument of Sartan, I swear
Props to the divine for getting rid of it, a pleasant suprise for sure

You totally just necroed this thread.

It really makes me curious as to why its not just listed in Help SKillranks how many lessons are needed for each level...
