Which would you prefer?

Stop with the Glomdoring polls and posts.

Choice C: Have it come back as Snugglianna, a commune dedicated to cuteness and romping.
(Just kidding!)

Thats what I expect Ackleberry to be like, actually.
Ihsahn2004-12-01 22:22:16
There's already one Serenwilde, and if Ackleberry comes back they'll have their nice friends. It'd be interesting if they formed some sort of alliance (Alliance of Snugglianna?) to go against the Glomdoring and try to bring back the original three forest communes.

The people voting Gloriana are most likely Serenwildens who want to get away from fighting.. I think. They are probably used to the mindset of the other IRE games where nature can't be separated. Or maybe they are just lazy and don't want to be in conflict like Magnagora or Celest..
Someone who voted Gloriana want to explain why? I hate assuming things because I'm usually wrong.

Glomdoring.
I love the idea of a dark, forbidding forest that isn't really allied with anyone (heck, this may change, but still). I've always been interested in a forestal-type character, but I'm not too fond of the role that they seem to get in every IRE game.

Glomdoring. Might make the Serenwilde actually have some conflict and competition, meaning magnagora no longer (maybe) has to keep the peace with them for alchemy and so forth, meaning more conflict all round, meaning more interesting.
Faethan2004-12-01 22:42:12
I said Gloriana, only because I think I'd get to play a bigger role in that story, and I personally would probably have more fun with it. I can certainly see the desire for tainted Glomdoring commune too though.
Unknown2004-12-01 22:43:22
I'd like Gloriana back but not as a quasi-Serenwilde. I have an appreciation for ravens and the embodiment of night in Celtic and Norse lore. I don't much care for the terms of Good and Evil because they're not really applicable in relation to Norse/Celtic myth. Raven and Night do seem to represent baser more primal yet nobler instincts which I think would provide a complex and engaging oppurtunity for roleplay.
As wanting to hide and not fight. I think a Gloriana commune would have quite a bit of opportunity for strife. The forest would not have to remain the Glomdoring for it to have conflict with Serenwilde. In fact if it came back as Gloriana it may be more interesting because the disagreements would not be limited to physical ones like we have now.

I voted for Gloriana.
*shrug* I'm not much for the whole PK scene and if the evil naughty baaaad forest comes back, there will be plenty of that. Whereas if Gloriana came back we could form alliances and such and such.
Elryn2004-12-02 00:10:26
Even I am sort of getting a little tired of the multitude of Visaeris/Glomdoring threads. Can't you pick one and focus on it?
I voted Gloriana, but I don't want it to be like Serenwilde, there wouldn't be much point of that. I'd like to see a dark forestal community, one in which the whole forest is pretty much as dark as it is now. I've given my reasons why a tainted forestal commune won't work, in my opinion elsewhere.
Theres also heaps of other alternatives than just the two, I still think the best would be to have the Glomdoring partway restored - physically untainted but spiritually scarred.

So I'm looking at the map of the Etheral realm and I see no room for Ackleberry without some 4th forest to even it out.
My new theory is that Skarch use to be a forest with a Day Spirit and River totem.

As I stated in other posts...I would like much the same as the other Gloriana folk...partially restored but not the same as the Serenwilde.
A more ritualistic forest commune with a resentment to how "developed" the Serenwilde has become. Having a dark commune won't solve the issue of forestals in one commune running everything...in face I believe it will make it much, MUCH worse. I see huge arguments over herbs...massive overharvesting to piss off the other group...and alchemists banning large groups for the sake of "you bought from the other commune".
I may be a little more open to a Glomdoring commune later, but I really think the DoC started their quest WAYYYYYYYY too early in development. There is so much possible RP in the Glomdoring for the time being, and adding a commune will add some...but take away much more. I don't even really want a Gloriana commune for some time, as I would prefer to play that forest out as is right now.

Perhaps Ackleberry can connect to both of the other forrest, as well as the central section.
I like that idea about the Skarch having been a forrest long ago. Would be a funny thing to see that brought back into being forrested.

What if the Glomdoring wasn't populated by only forestals?

Ok, to clarify, when I refer to forestals I usually mean those who actually derive their purpose/philosophy and particularly skills from some link with nature.
