So I'm looking at the map of the Etheral realm and I see no room for Ackleberry without some 4th forest to even it out.
My new theory is that Skarch use to be a forest with a Day Spirit and River totem.

There are three forests in the Ethereal Realm? Really?
I never noticed that. I know of Ethereal Serenwilde, Ethereal Glomdoring, and Faethorn. Faethorn is more of a village, not a Forest, so that doesn't count as a Forest.
And there is already a River Totem, yep, nice spirit Sister River is. Also, Day Spirit? Isn't Father Sun considered to be the Bringer of the Day? So wouldn't He be the "Day Spirit"?

What he meant was that at the moment there's two forests along the Y axis. If we added Ackleberry on the X axis, you'd need a fourth to balance it out lest the Ethereal get unbalanced and go tumbling along its X axis through all eternity.

QUOTE (Histories @ Fall of the Holy Celestine Empire)
So Ackleberry Forest sundered itself from reality. We cannot know if they survived or not, but the forest, both here and in the ethereal realm, is no more.â€
So as you can clearly see, there was another forest in ethereal as well. When they envoked the ritual that removed them from the world, it also removed that forest. If they can, and do return, so would the ethereal forest that is connected to them.
<---Histories, read them

Val, read dlanod's post again. I thnk that's what's trying to be said about the balance of the ethereal plane.
Unknown2004-12-02 13:23:16
I can't remember if I actually answered or not.
I voted Glom. Would be much more interesting, even though I don't like fighting too much.

Dritex read my post again and see that I was commenting to Daganev.

Heh, you're trying to make it symmetrical. Just remember, rooms on maps look like that, but they would only somewhat look like that if each room was a real area.

There are happy-go-lucky players? And who says that Serenwilde isn't nature oriented?
Silvanus2004-12-02 22:31:28
You are obviously ignoring the part that says "eviler commune with" part.

I think he's referring to forestal communities from other games. E.g. Achaean druids. 'cause they really are happy-go-lucky, mostly. Even the help scroll says so for crying out loud.

I know for a fact the Sentinels in Aetolia were a joke. ¬_¬ I certainly want Serenwilde, and the Hartstone, to have a little bit of pride.
Richter2004-12-03 18:15:30
I was a sentinel for a while. Both forestal guilds were kind of a joke, and they only got all "forest pride"ish when someone started a fire.

Nicely spotted...
Richter2004-12-03 18:33:01
There -is- a fourth forest. It's just... uh, underground. Or in the clouds. Something.
Shiri2004-12-03 19:42:41
I like the idea of a subterranean forest. Making burrowing more widespread and having underground combat and air pockets under the earth and all the rest of it would be a REALLY interesting twist to things.
Unknown2004-12-03 19:57:02
The idea of the Skarch being an ex-forest is kinda cool.
Richter2004-12-03 20:58:45
Well, it's not so uncommon. Our world used to look very different.
Though, it would take more than just 500 years to change.

Unknown2004-12-03 21:07:55
Maybe there was something that forced it to change. A higher nature spirit of the Skarch Forest, said to hold the fertility and prosperity of the forest within his grasp, was killed by a demon who lusted after the spirit's power. Because of this, the Skarch was instantly turned into a barren, uninhabitable wasteland.
Richter2004-12-03 21:18:10
Or he held it, and something happened, requiring him to seal the nature away until a later time, turning it into a desolate land.
The fae spirit snake or something?
