What illusionary terrain requirement are you talking about? Anyways I found the Envoy report and now it seems Lodestone and Typhoon stop abilities that would work in a natural forest environment like Vines, Wisp, etc. It seems kind of strange as Typhoon is higher in Aquamancy than Lodestone is in Geomancy.

That is correct. I'm going to correct a few old mistakes here.

In the rest of this post, natural trees does not refer to trees summoned by druids, to sacred trees, or to dryad trees. It refers to the 'trees' ... flag, I guess, although I'm not sure if it's implemented as such. This occurs in natural forest rooms such as are found in Caoimhe/Wydyr, Glomdoring, Serenwilde, Ethereal, etcetera.

Formerly, tainting forest would deprive it of natural trees, preventing the use of tree-based abilities (such as nature vines, wisp, etc. as Genos said) and removing the trees elevation. This was not a function of defoliation; defoliation was merely a different syntax and message for tainting wyrden forest, I believe a leftover from when Blacktalon/Glomdoring were introduced as playable orgs (before the Wyrd) and the two demesne types needed to be separated. Forest tainted by either geocast taint (such as used on ethereal/sylvan forest) and defoliation (wyrden forest) both lose their trees without any further commands.

Aquamancers never had a similar method of removing natural trees. If a room in one of the aforementioned areas was flooded, trees still existed there (notably allowing wisp from an aquamancer meld on Ethereal but not from a Geomancer one, which was I believe a major prompt of this change).

Tainting forest no longer has this effect, as per this envoy change.

Rather, this effect (removal of natural trees) is now part of the lodestone and typhoon effects. While either of these effects is active, there are no natural trees. I don't know if it requires the mage to be in the room or adjacent or if it applies to everywhere the effect is raised. I'll test later, but I will say I hope the latter.

I was surprised to see it on that list, mostly because the last time I tested damage with and without it, it was working as intended.

It was checking the attacker's skill in acrobatics, not the person with acrobatics. So, sometimes it would work and sometimes not, depending on the attacker. I imagine no little frustration in tracking down this bug. tongue.gif Good catch on Charune's part, though.
