Blanknote is fast, but it's still not fast enough for this application. The denizens virtually always shield again before you get eq back, so I'm told. So while it's a nice idea, it doesn't turn out to be useful.

(Having consistently double-minorseconded when an NPC is shielded), the reason that it was accepted this time, was that after stun was removed, blanknote became faster- fast enough to make the ability potentially worth using.

I've given it a few tries, and only about one time in four am I able to get an attack in after the blanknote before another shield is up. It's still coming out always quicker to just wait. However, this will be very useful in team hunting amongst bards.

Report 294, at what point does 'four people can get a kill in if they work together' a reason for not upgrading it? Egads.

I'm really hoping for preserve to end up like chasm, seeing as there's no real reason I can think of to NOT get it that way, I mean if anything it'd still be worse as geos have more hindering, what'd be the problem?

You don't get chasm like I don't get judge. Thats how it works.

Reading that report, Romero. Your logic is horrid, because the same applies with Crucify/Sacrifice and it's very pot meet kettle. Come to think of it, you've never supported any other envoy besides Magnagoran ones. I can't think of one of Glomdoring's that you supported. Of course, there might be that errant Celestian one you may have supported from the time of your alliance. However, I find that for an Envoy, your bias shows itself in more ways than I think even you realize. There is absolutely no way you can say that Preserve is "fine as-is". By no means does it need it be a Chasm clone, but it does need a change for the better to be brought on par with Chasm. Currently, Geomancers have far more going for them than Aquamancers do.

Its crazy that every few months the Divine need to roll in and clear this thread out because of namecalling and constant immaturity like you just presented Nienla. Preserve is fine as is, I am not the one asking for a sacrifice change and yes the reason it wouldn't be changed even though it is difficult 1 on 1 is that 'omg 4 people can instadoit.' The fact remains is that Estarra won't give Necromancers a judge like skill in the same way that she won't give aquamancers a chasm like skill. Preserve was upgraded by Desitrus who knows what he is talking about. Use stun, use blackout, use setup instead of spamming away whisper or running to give phantomspheres and maybe an aquamancer will pull off a preserve and in groups the chance of a preserve grows even more. Its not that the skill is impossible to do (You can certainly outpace with all the illusions, meld stun, and other things at your disposal) its just that not a single aquamancer is a recognized combatant and no one cares to actually learn to do it.

I don't have to present evidence to defend my past reports as the admins probably wouldn't allow someone with 'blatant bias' to sit on as an envoy. But I will be messaging them to remove your flame and any subsequent ones. Keep it constructive please.

It's not name-calling, I'm just calling it like I see it. I'm just bringing up your past envoy reports, comments, etc. as a resource to shred your current argument against buffing Preserve. Plus, I enjoy how you speculate on how to fight as an Aquamancer without having any prior experience as one. Please, by all means, show us how it is done with that set-up right there.

Also, as I stated previously, I'm not supporting Preserve becoming a Chasm-clone. I -am- supporting an upgrade because of the fact that it is never pulled off against anyone who knows what they're doing. I've never been preserved, even against a number of Celestians hitting me. You're opposing it on the grounds of, 'CHASM CLONE!!!!11!! PRESERVE IS FINE!!!!!11 DOESN't NEED UPGRADE'.

Here's an idea. Romero, why don't you make an aqua alt with skills up to preserve, and see if you can pull it off?

I haven't played an aquamancer in a long while, but I've never tried a preserve kill in active combat. I mean, come on. An instakill stopped by basically sipping fire?

You know, if you look at it, Preserve is a lot like Cremate, except not.

You have to work up levels of something (Burns or freeze) to perform an instakill

Cremate, you get them to fourth level burns, which your demesne can do easily with shieldstun spam.

Preserve, you get them to frozen solid and half health, which the demesne does NOT do passively, and is far easier to cure thanks to not having a slickness equivilent in the demesne.

Not as cool as as an instakill stopped by lighting yourself on fire.

My point is that, if you look at it, an Aeromancer demesne has similar ability to chill as an Aquamancer demesne. Even a Nihilist has the same chilling capabilities as an Aquamancer due to Coldaura.

EDIT: And by the way, Romero. There is a reason why Nihilist's don't have a judge equal. I think Wrack, Sacrifice, and Soulless are enough instakills for one class to have.

If envoys will let Icefloe strip two levels of fire, Preserve might be viable (strip fire, chill the person). Either that, or you basically have to.. I suppose shieldstun the person so they can't sip fire. No clue, sorry.

EDIT: Making preserve like chasm isn't even close to being like giving Nihilists Judgement. I personally like the idea of intently staring at a person and watching the ice flow up their body and making them turn into a statue of ice, so long as you don't move.

It's not really that viable. Purgatives are pretty quick to recover, and Aquamancers really don't have aeon or a reliable source of anorexia to try to stop someone from drinking fire.

Yeah, and it's not like they can throatlock/alteraura fire AND freeze at the same time. It requires too much setup for a single person to do in combat.
