I kind of like the other constructs more than Halli's...

Though our new flying cloud powers (if we build that) would give me a reason to finally reincarnate and not lose flight. (would be cool if it also made current flyers even better in the air!)

I believe Kiradawea will go on a bloody rampage if you don't build that
Furien2011-01-24 07:08:10
Hallifax's stuff is really tame.

I mean, constructs are nice, but none of these are a Dark Crypt or Moon Altar. Nothing riveting. 4 minute celerity? Free fog? Flight for everyone? Lightning resistance, as if we didn't have enough of it? Self-aging?

Neat RP stuff, maybe, but I don't think people build constructs for that. They want real benefits.

CODE
Sacredstar:
TOUCH - Gives a Pendant of Light for 10 power
Pendant gives level 1 mana regeneration
RELEASE STARLIGHT to fill one room with starlight once per day
  5DMP against all damage sources
RUB PENDANT once a month to cure health/mana/ego

What's starlight do?
Ixion2011-01-24 07:27:06
Carcer effect.....
Casilu2011-01-24 07:32:31
If that is true, then someone might have gotten a good deal out of all this.

Mrrr, Candle improves fire damage? That's only for Pyromancers, while the other 'mage' constructs (maybe except for Hallifax, where theirs help all except for the Aeromancers) all help the other classes equally, however tame the effects are.

And Enigmatic Pyramid seems underwhelming too. About the only nifty thing is being able to shift butterfly free I assume every time you touch the construct. But still, butterfly can backfire, so it isn't as nice as it sounds. And for non-Paradigmatics users, they get two abilities, but both require power to use.

But I'll have to agree with Iytha, seems like Enigmatic Pyramid's going to be the one.
Razenth2011-01-24 07:46:33
lol, Enigmatic isn't being built. It's one of the two planar defense ones that are.
Unknown2011-01-24 07:57:57
Oh well, I've not logged in yet, so I was just speculating.

Butterfly will be free no matter your class (if you have one from touching the pyramid).

ChaoteSign will be free for Paradigm users, iirc.

The secondary constructs for the city are not 'mage' constructs.

They're general constructs related to the city, thematically. Celest's being the Star, Mag's being the Engine, Hallifax's being Logic, and Gaudiguch's being the Forbidden Mysteries.

That you see some elemental reflection in them is more a comment on how the elements themselves relate to the city's overarching theme than anything, imo.

Er... that's not what the text says

I'm aware, but I'm telling you how it is. suspicious.gif

Yeah, after looking at the construct message, it really isn't a free butterfly, even for Paradigmatics users with the skill. You need to spend ten power to get a chaos butterfly to follow you, and I assume that this applies to Paradigmatics users as well.

Chaotesign being free for Paradigmatics users is a huge difference compared to simply making it available to non-Paradigmatics users.
Unknown2011-01-24 08:38:02
Oh, it seems that the construct description was changed. Here's the new one:

CODE
Enigmaticpyramid:
TOUCH - Opens the third eye for 10 power
Increases the chance of recognising illusions
  Small protection from insanity
Small chance of increasing insanity attacks if a Paradigmatics user
TOUCH - Gain a chaos butterfly for 10 power which will allow the casting of SHIFT BUTTERFLY for anyone, and for free one time to cast.
While possessing the butterfly, can also cast SHIFT CHAOTESIGN, free if possessing the Paradigmatics ability
Furien2011-01-24 09:52:39
Yes, you basically opt to 'load' the butterfly beforehand, allowing you to use it in battle without sucking up all your reserves.

It could be better, but it's also one of many buffs over the past few months to the Illuminati in regards to their ability to build insanity.
Ileein2011-01-24 12:14:44
Hmm. While I'm happy we got constructs, and our lovely Puff of Logic is a nice touch, I'm not excited about the Crystalspire. Slightly increased aeon protection is a good element, but considering that the heaviest users of aeon are Hallifaxians, protecting against ourselves isn't that great. Free ageing won't be used very often (most people only want it once, and very few people every want it in the first place), and quickening is okay but not great. I was really hoping for something awesome to go in the Moonaltar/Blackcrypt/Angelfont/whatever analogue slot, but it looks like it didn't happen. sad.gif

Mag gets 5 DMP and a sip level? Do want.

Although a tiny pet stag that gives Celerity is still amazing, I suppose. I'm always running into hasty messages.

You get 5dmp too, just not the sip level.

The sip level is the important bit, I just mentioned the DMP because they synergize for bashing. Mag also doesn't have Drawdown, which stats kicking in the diminishing returns faster than a lot of other places.
