Actually, I think something along the lines of 'Illuminati/Researchers harvest two flesh/crystals with each harvest instead of one' would be a very nice effect, and doesn't really affect combat balance but simply makes stockpiling flesh/crystals less of a chore. (Edit: meaning, we gain two flesh/crystal while the Fleshpot/Sphere loses only one flesh/crystal)
A more interesting effect could be that with thirdeye (meh, there's even already a skill called thirdeye, does that mean I get two thirdeyes if I use them both?), meditating would not be interrupted by non-agressive actions (basically, whatever wouldn't break shield), and boost the mana, ego and willpower regen. Maybe add endurance regen so that Templars can benefit from it too.
(Edit: Or, if that's too hard to code, level one mana and ego regen would be very nice as well, seeing as Gaudiguch guilds have little access to regen effects beyond stable aura for Illuminati.)
Or, while having thirdeye up, smoking weed gives you a buff instead of tripping hard, maybe some DMP because Pyromancers and Illuminati sure lack DMP.

Make one of the Gaudi ones remove the balance cost from "enter valve". Every time you do a run of the Vortex to first check the fleshpots, then feed the fleshpots, you enter valves thirty or forty times. You lose about 2 seconds balance every time. It's annoying and tedious.

I'm guessing that, Ringwalk block % goes up, Ancestral Curse ticks faster, and Parade... has lower EQ cost? Could we get any confirmation on that? =o

Mag got the best one out of this. They get a sip level, an ability that synergizes even more with their disease output thing (for their bards and necro users), and even a room knockdown move.
I mean, the sip level itself should have been more than enough, given their...opinions about viscanti and sip levels, but man, why couldn't the other related org constructs synergize just as well with their skills?
P.S. I'd rather nerf the once a month abilities even more in exchange for actually getting to use them whenever we could. Getting to use them once in a very small time frame is pretty lame.

I think everyone should be happy that they are rather "tame" given how much outliers are complained about.
Yeah, I fully expected there to be a couple of overpowered things in there, considering the direction we've been going with the release of new skillsets that are just completely wacky. I'd rather leave it this way.
I think everyone should stop complaining. I know certain people here are used to having OP skills (I'll let you guys decide for yourself who that is), but having OP skills doesn't necessarily make it fun for everyone.
That said, I am fine with Caerulo's idea of letting the guardian guilds harvest two crystals/flesh for each facet/petal. It'd be sort of like shadows.
Oh yeah, Iasmos is right. Generally, it's the old that gets left behind. I find it funny how the one time the new gets "left behind", we get so much complaining about it.
Kiradawea2011-01-24 19:56:41
That might be because Hallifax and Gaudiguch have been handed butterknives, while the rest have various kinds of swords.

For what it's worth I'd rather see the better stuff nerfed than for us to be buffed.
I appreciate all the work that went into the new constructs, and I feel like the creators wanted to go in a direction of more utility and flavor based perks (which is great), but the old constructs weren't adjusted to match.
Not going to just shut up and not complain though - if something is unfair people need to voice their opinions so that it can be made fair. The reason being that OP skills aren't fun for everyone. And hey, if they decide to buff Gaudi and Hallifax constructs, that's fine too.

I kind of like this too (I'll talk to Sior about it).
My main worry would be people would consider this a must-have construct and complain if they have trouble getting an extra aetherbubble that they 'have' to use the nexus world to maintain the construct and forfeit all other constructs (you get the gist).

Well, most of the other orgs have ones that are considered that way. Whether or not they actually are a must have is arguable, but I certainly wouldn't replace the Moon Altar on the nexus world and I've argued against it IC before a few times, simply because it's so useful, especially now that we're not stuck with just that one.

Eh, we were all doing that anyway before the sweet new aetherflare system, so everyone could live with 'having' to put it on the nexus world.

I don't really think that is so much an issue. Unless all the constructs are identical, there will ultimately always be one that people prefer.

Our other option is getting the ability to fly (which all Aeromancers and trill already have and which the Institute should have as a skill but doesn't for some mind boggling reason), level 1 electric protection (which both Halli races already have to some degree and most electric damage comes from Aeros, unless you count some artie warriors or one demesne effect), obscuring exits once a day (which aeromancers can already do in a demesne and which I don't find very awesome compared to the Night Altar effects), and 5 DMP (which I would trade for nearly any combination of benefits from Night Altar.
Just a side note, but you really aren't comparing the cloud to the Night Altar. It should be compared to the spike, crow, foal, candle and pendant. i.e All of them give 5 dmp.
The ability to fly is, at least, nice (consider that for non-trill/faeling it is an artifact or a beast) especially if hallifax ever gets bards and monks, with this everyone in the city of air will be able to fly, if we expect that the rest of the guilds are an inevitability then it's a nice little utility for the then majority of guilds.

Indeed. The important thing is that they are even.

Yeah. Compare it to the Crystalspire instead. That is our "equivalent".

Just make it so that every time you use balestone, you propagate an untrapped error in the fabric of the world, so people can't use it too often without destroying all of Creation.

If the goal was to not have one construct be an obvious favorite, you did pretty well with Gaudi and Hallifax. The other orgs you'd have to be crazy not to put up Altars/Font/Crypt.
Only exception is that Magnagora's Spike is pretty sweet too.
