Flying without looking like a butterfly then?
That's pretty subjective. What if an Ialie-wannabie went Trill?

Snarkiness aside, there is precedent for trill with hair. Crossbreeding is one way of justifying, so's a scalp transplant. I'm sure a clever player could come up with all sorts of ways to give a Trill character normal hair. Further, there are always exceptions to every rule, and the "No Trill grows hair" rule is no exception. So yes, while the help file does state that "No Trill grows hair on their head", I would say that there's a way around it. Now, if everyone and their mom started making Trill characters with hair instead of feathers, we might have a problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case and I don't see the problem with a little bit of creative liberty.
I know of at least two players (my Trill character actually does stick to canon Trill description, but that's beside the point) who were fantastic roleplayers that had very good reasons for hair on their heads instead of feathers. However, Trill isn't just denoted as flying with their wings, otherwise Faethings would be considered Trill too!

So basically, you're saying that it's perfectly okay for trill to have hair as long as people come up with a retarded, Mary Sue inspired reason for it? "LOL I'M HALF HUMAN" is not an exception, because the help file clearly states "No trill have hair". This means "every trill does not have hair". Any trill with hair is not a trill. It's a human with wings.
P.S. It's not called "Creative liberty". It's called "coming up with your own idiot ideas instead of just being something different because you don't like what the admins say, LOL I'M SO UNIQUE LOLOL".

No, they're denoted by having feathered wings and feathers instead of hair.

So if someone has trill wings, can fly, has trill eyes, hollow bones, and is awful chummy with the Lucidians, they're still a human if they can grow a beard?
This reminds me convincingly of a lesson I learned in history class.

Yep. Just like a dracnari that does not have the potential to breathe fire is not a dracnari, or a merian that cannot breathe in water is not a merian, a trill that does not have feathers for hair is not a trill.

So we're not using flying, a distinctly trill trait, nor wings, as the benchmark. We're using hair. Merians and Dracnari get to have hair too in that case.
As long as they can breathe water or fire.

It specifically says in the help file that "No trill grows hair on their head". This is the same condition as "All dracnari can breathe fire" and "All merian can breathe water". If half-blood trill were allowed to have hair, then half-blood merian and half-blood dracnari can be allowed to not breathe water, or not breathe fire. Since if you don't breathe water or fire, you're not a merian or dracnari, it's logical to say that if you have hair, you're not a trill. The circumstances here are the exact same thing. There's no semantics involved.
Also, merian and dracnari normally don't have hair but can have the ability to grow it, unlike trill, which do not.

Actually, those two are defined in the help scrolls. Merians make no distinctions other than the ability to breathe water, and Dracnari make no distinction other than being able to breathe fire.

Don't forget hollow bones, association with Lucidians, dis-association with Dracnari.... a whole host of other things. You're getting too hung up on a -minor- physical detail.

Think of it like this: Person makes a merian called Merian1. Said merian is RPed as not being able to breathe water due to being part human. Here comes along Mentor1.
It makes no sense to be different. The circumstances are the same. No trill grows hair. If the help file said "All trill grow feathers, they have no hair", it would mean the same exact thing as "No trill grows hair, they have feathers". Just as how "All merians breathe underwater" is the same as "No merian cannot breathe underwater".
QUOTE
Mentor1: So you're a merian, right?
Merian1: Yep.
Mentor1: So why can't you breathe water?
Merian1: Because I'm part human!
Mentor1: All merians have the ability to breathe water. Says so in the help scroll.
Merian1: But trill can grow hair if they're part human, right?
Mentor1: Well that's totally different and not related in any way!
Merian1: Yep.

Yes, you edited your post to make it from Photobucket, very clever. I saw http://img.4chan.org/b/src/1253132850838.jpg when you hotlinked it.

Yeah...hence the at the end, denoting a humorous and light tone.
To keep the thread about descriptions, here's Karel's.
He is an ordinary human and and stands slightly taller than most of his own
race, with a lithe but lanky build accentuating his above-average height. Neatly framed by dark brown bangs, his countenance is decidedly angular in both its stark planes and his sharp features, softened only by layers of wavy hair that reach a little past his shoulders. His eyes are a crystal-clear and unnaturally bright green, and his thin mouth is often curled downward in a disdainful glower. He is wearing plain grey trousers, a grand ring of steel, a black velvet backpack, a tall black, silver banded top hat, a silver stud through his right ear, a silver stud
through his left ear, a simple silver hoop through his lower lip, sturdy lace-up
knee boots of thick umber leather, a snug pair of ebony riding gloves, a stately
black silk ascot scarf, a wide black leather belt, and an ebony thorn
embroidered frock coat.

The only thing I can't understand is "unnaturally bright green". Do you mean as in the irises glow green (sort of how Vibeke's does), or do you mean that it's neon bright?
