It's barely freezing there!

Oh, that reminds me of the one time in Houston that the roads froze. It was hilarious. It was like someone set up giant magnets on the side of the road, and cars would randomly start getting pulled off as they zipped by.

My rant is also about the weather.

Picture it, if you will: My little truck.

Rear-wheel drive. No 4-wheel drive. No weight in the back. No snow tires. Heater works only sporadically. Three inches of snow and piling up.
And...it's a manual transmission.
I slid about 30 feet horizontally on the highway today, grinding gears and eventually giving up, putting it in Neutral, and sliding along until the snow had had its way with me on the way to school.
Fun? Yes. But not fun enough for me to not complain about it.

I failed my statistics final exam this morning. On the plus side, I think I'll get off with a C in the class.

Anything less than 50 is too cold! If the word Freezing applies, it's ungodly cold.

93% of people don't use statistics in their daily lives.

Also, rant:

My university. There was an inch of snow on the roads today, and a solid sheet of ice underneath it.

Every university and school, and a ton of businesses, were either closed or on a big delay today.

Not my university, nope. The main page of the website obnoxiously says:



Yup, I really freaking worried about the sidewalks, not the solid sheet of ice on the road. 90% of your students don't even live in a dorm.

So, trying to drive to my 10:30AM final this morning, I (while driving on a sheet of ice) lost traction (gasp) and sideswiped the curb. Now I have a very loose front right fender, and it shaddered a chunk of metal off of the rim on my wheel.

It takes an ungodly bad storm to shut mine down, ungodly as in several feet of snow without the crews being able to plow. Even then, it probably wont be cancelled. Right now, everything is iced over because things started to melt and then it went under -10C.

My school only closes when public transit can't operate, which is anything over 2 feet of snow in 8 hours... But if the roads are bad just don't go, unless your school's a bunch of dicks they'll let you reschedule your exam. Last year there was only 6 people that showed up to one of my exams because the roads were bad. The teachers aren't usually dinks about it, though there are some that would force you to be hospitalized in a car accident before allowing you to miss a test/exam/project.

I live up north now, and on campus. I can walk, even if there's a lot of snow.

Sweet... I don't think the ridiculous cost of living on campus (at my school at least) is worth it. I'll take walking 40 minutes in snow/taking the bus/taxi and save myself over $1000 any day.

I got tuition and housing for about ten thousand, which was better than the fourteen thousand I would've gotten elsewhere.

My pipes are still frozen. It's 2:11 and I still have no water. Fun.

If your pipes are frozen, no water is probably the least of your troubles

I hate you more than you can ever know. Now that phrase is bouncing around my head and not even Hollywood Undead - Undead can get it out.

Getting two C's...both in my major/minor classes. Also my History teacher not even posting grades...

Rant2: Grading being two exams and a final.

Update: History grade...although it was a gen ed and I don't care about it that much, it killed my GPA (I still passed it though...)

None of the people I know RL remembered my birthday, also everything that could go wrong at work, did.

What happened?

My day consisted of surfing the Internet... and doing what very little work they can find for me, since Friday is my last day and they don't want to give me a project in case I don't get done.

just a lot of little annoying things that add up, like pressure leaks, oxygen generator system failure, fuel leaks, false fire alerts that prevent a run-up of an aircraft.

My tongue is swollen, therefore I am doing a whole lot of slurring. Kinda like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age, actually. That's what my stepbrother compared me to.

So I decide to call my good friend Lekius for comfort.
