True. SG-1 should have ended with a bang. It ended with a whimper.
Unknown2007-06-05 23:45:50
While I agree that stories have a natural lifespan beyond which they're kept alive on very nasty life-support (and I think Stargate's ended with the movie *cough*), BSG has sooo much interesting material. This is one story that had a longer life in it. Mind you, I thought the quality of the writing declined in the 3rd season, so maybe it's better this way...

BSG has always had... crummy and mediocre episodes in between truly great ones. Same could be said of Stargate, especially Atlantis.
I need to find new SciFi shows to watch - all of my favorites are ending.

So season 4 started.

I'm glad it's going to finally end?
Ildaudid2008-04-07 18:33:27
I watched it. Actually started liking the show too. The first episode of the final season was good too. I think Starbuck is hot for some reason, and of course that Sharon cylon is what all men think when they think asian girl.
Good show though.

Well then I will think of you when I think of Sharon the Cylon, I will say that Cylon is an actress played by Callia Parayshia. And then everyone will be happy

Ildaudid you're such a dork.
I freaked out when Saul shot adama through the eye. That was harsh! But thankfully it was just a daydream.
Gauis was amusing as always.
Personally I like the mystical twist of the show. It keeps scifi nerds like myself on edge.

I was screaming at my computer as I watched "To Be Continued" show up... sometimes I want to kill RDM, resurgem his body, slay it again, and again, and again, and again...
But now I know what they were doing during the break-- that was the single most awesome space battle I've ever seen, better than movie quality! I am very, very excited for what this season has to offer-- the producers admit that Season 3 stagnated a bit during the middle and have said that Season 4 is supposed to be a fast paced race to the finish that will leave the fans sweating. I can't wait!
By the way... for those of you who can't see the episodes when they broadcast, SciFi (at least for now) is streaming each episode LIVE at 12:00 pm ET the Friday they are broadcast. Take advantage of it!

Hey I am not the bird thing draggin luke skywalkers head around in a sig
And admit it.... Cylon Sharon is hot.... and honest Bali.... I keep looking at Starbuck, and something sticks in my head about her face. Like I know here from somewhere..... It's wierd. I need to check her RL name and then her bio. I wonder if she was this girl I remember back in school..... It is buggin me... (and yeah she is cute in a wierd, I will punch you in the mouth, screw your friend and then tell you I love you sorta way)
Everiine2008-04-08 01:29:28
I'm actually amazed at Tricia Helfer's performance-- she played Head 6, Caprica 6, Gina, and basic 6 all with very subtle, but very distinct differences in style and performance. To ask a model to be an actress for one character was dicey enough, but to ask her to play a multitude of characters, each different in their own way was quite a gamble on the part of the producers, but she has proven to be an extraordinarily gifted actress. Plus the cast and crew all say she is a down to earth awesome person to be around, not a prick, so that's a plus too!
Oh, and Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) is indeed hot

Well, its all over.
I for one did not mind the literal dues ex machina ending, although I know some people did.
Baltar: "You know, I know something about farming..." - Manly tears were shed.

I really wish everyone died at the end, save Hera, Gaius, and Caprica. Plus, Helo should have died. He took like 1200000 bullets to the stomach. He had no internal organs to repair!
Ah well, I'll just rewrite the episode in the my head.Unknown2009-03-23 01:00:11
I disagree, I would have been pissed if Helo died, or if they gave him a death without resolution. I've always liked him.
Everiine2009-03-23 01:19:53
I liked him too, I'm glad they didn't kill him off.
I didn't mind the deux ex machina ending, because it wasn't unexpected. The whole series hinted that another force was at work, and the series ended with that force giving one final push to help shape the universe. It made sense to me.

They should have gotten a few original cast members to wake up from a nasty dream...y'know, like Newhart...
Proud to say I haven't watched the new BSG. I want my Cylons to talk with electronic voices and not be "real people"...I want to see hi-tech space opera.

They did have an original cast member, he was executed .
I'd argue the new BSG was more hi-tech than the old one. And, as a Six so perfectly commented on the robotic looking Cylons, "Those models still exist, they have their uses". You saw plenty of nasty and deadly Cylon Centurions in this series too . As far as drama and space-opera, the story arcs and depth of the new one blow the old one out of the sky.
Unknown2009-03-28 02:12:55
Phred, you should watch the new BSG, if not only for Hatch and the Old Cylon models in the finale
