One quest I've been curious about how to do is the quest involving the sunburnt kephera in Oleanvir Valley. I've been curious about how I can help them, but every time I try to ask what I can do, the three protectors of Princess Khekameti just all say their crystals have been set and there's nothing more they can do, and when I talk to Princess Khekameti herself she just tells me to go down and ask her bodyguards about the crystals! Very frustrating. blackeye.gif So I was wondering what one has to do to start the quest to help them?

If the only way to answer me here is with a spoiler, then send me a PM on the topic. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting my request for help here...if I am, then say so and I'll edit this post to retract it.

It means someone already did the quest. If you catch them in a time when the quest hasn't been completed yet, the beginning is very clear wink.gif

Right then.

The Dragonturtle Quest. I have been at it for more than a few hours due to a couple of mistakes on my part and much novice interference. I recovered the 'bottom piece', know what to do with it, and -believe- I am on the right track with the pretty birds.

If not, I'm baffled instead and want only to know (if this breaks no rule): Is this quest confined to the boundaries of the Toronada Tidalflats? I ask because of where the first piece comes from, which could imply quite an adventure.

Thank you.

EDIT: ...That is asking for a hint, isn't it?

Yes, the entire quest is contained within the flats and you do not need to go hunt for other stuff in other areas.
Yes, you're also on the right track if you're thinking about birds. Damn gluttons always eating mah lunch.... I hope one of them chokes and dies.

I appreciate it, both people. It confused me because the quest has no starting point, so to say.

Eh, it sort of does, but it's definitely one of the more amorphous ones out there. That being said, I like this aspect because then I don't have to worry too much about 'screwing up' by doing the middle before the beginning. Assuredly one of my favourite quests out there, it is. Zoaka or Spectre Isle is probably my least f... wait no, Kryden Valik. That one SUCKED.

Heh, which part of it sucked? The rafting, or the Tower of Hanoi part?

That quest confuses and angers me because I completed it once on one of my characters, but have never been able to replicate this. And I no longer play that character, so I don't get the delicious honours line. Nerdrage!

Neither. The end sucked. If you've finished the 'free Feyahi' path, you'd know what I mean.

I <3 the towers of hanoi puzzles, mostly because I know the algorithm for it and mostly because it's a cool questy thing that requires more brainwork than 'kill x take to y' over and over or 'influence z' without being TOO vague and nitwicky evil the way some of the quest hints go.

The challenge of a quest should be in figuring out what to do and how it is done (within reason), not bribing other players to stop killing things or let you have a go at it. dry.gif

Precisely.

Heh, I tried to do all everything everyone asked. I was missing just one mantekarr, so I decided to just give the stone, and went out to look for the last one. By the time I came back, both priest and the 'free us' dude were gone and I have no idea what happened.

As for the Tower of Hanoi thing, yeah, I do too, just that I already did it for the Night bubble quest, so it didn't seem as 'fresh' to me. The bridge one was nifty and different from the usual bridge puzzle, and although I was really satisfied when I completed it, my brain hurt, only to find out it was just the first part. >.>

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a no on this one, considering the thread states "NO HINTS OR WALKTHROUGHS" but it would be nice to have the names of the mobs who start the quest available. I'm never sure if I'm GREETing the right mob or not, or if it is someone who doesn't come into play until much later in the quest. It's all terribly confusing. Plus it feels like some people have an otherworldly knowledge of how to do these quests and where they start.

This 'otherworldly knowledge' comes from inquiring in the game and having done a bajillion and a half quests before. The "quest-giver" mobs tend to be the more talkative ones and usually have names, not to mention are usually somewhere in a specially labeled area on Caffrey's map thing of awesome. So yeah, I don't think a list is necessary. Finding "questgivers" has never been that hard for me.

There's a quest in the Balach swamp. Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but yeah. Average gold reward, and pretty easy to do, too. Need to kill a few things, so I'd say level 30+.

Is it just me or did the last part of the mushroom quest in the UV have no instructions at all (which was a timed puzzle by the way). I just want to double check before I spend hours doing all the work leading up to this part again.
Kiradawea2009-06-02 08:26:50
You talking about the Hyfae quest? The mushrooms there are just a Mastermind.

Anyway, the Malacoda Manor quest. Is it broken or am I supposed to not find all the items?
Ryll2009-06-02 09:11:17
I might be mistaken here, but every time I've tried to do the Acknor quest, it seems like I'm missing certain items which I could only feasibly acquire through things that would be considered raiding, one of which in particular would require a fairly high level in a certain skill (I'm being vague and this probably wouldn't count as giving anything away at all anyway, but just to be certain...). Am I missing something here, or is the easy recommendation a bit of a misnomer?
Esano2009-06-02 09:22:13
It used to only require one upgrade (so you could just do it with a chokeberry). Not sure if this is still the case, however - I've not been able to do it with one upgrade myself.

If you want to blame someone, it's likely Inagin for doing the quest every time it repopped and getting massive amounts of gold for no work, to large complaints.
Ryll2009-06-02 09:27:05
Even if it does require only the one upgrade, it's a matter of luck whether or not you get the easily obtainable one - not something I'd call easy by any means. I got a little ticked-off the first time I tried to do it because I was under the assumption that the things you needed wouldn't exactly be hard to come by, so I got a bit of a rude shock. Still, that's more my own fault than anything else (I blame Paavik for giving me a false sense of security with the village quests).
