You misunderstand a bit - maybe you missed one of the people. I'll explain in PMs so as to not spoil it though.

Is it just me or did the last part of the mushroom quest in the UV have no instructions at all (which was a timed puzzle by the way). I just want to double check before I spend hours doing all the work leading up to this part again.
Yeah, for some reason there is absolutely no instruction on that puzzle. I had done the Dracnari one the day before so it was pretty much the same thing (touch it, speak location on the grid, speak the number, make things add up to the sums on the top and sides). Relatively simple, but the instructions are not very obvious (if they are even there at all).

Where the hell are the Shadowstones in the Manifestation of Night? I got to the last step of the quest, and the objects I'm supposed to use in the puzzle are nowhere to be found.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT POST HINTS OR WALK THROUGHS!
Xenthos2009-06-03 04:47:54
I honestly don't see anything wrong with very basic hints such as "examine room descriptions" or "look closely at specific item". A lot of these quests just don't have the information needed.
For example, the Hyfae one that was mentioned just moments ago. There's nothing (that I was able to find) that says what the heck you're supposed to do. Only reason I figured out the mechanics was the Zoaka quest.
Edit: And since you've now gone and edited my post, I'd like to state that I disagree with your reasoning. If I was giving real information, sure. But it's not like this is game-breaking (or even quest-breaking)! It is useful for anyone trying to do one of these quests when the information is Nowhere To Be Found.

Mmhm! Especially when half the honours quests are riddled with completely confusing steps or are prone to bugginess.

Every bug I've ever submitted had been deemed "not a bug", so I'm not gonna waste my time.

I have. Quests are low-priority though, I think. Either that, or very difficult. They tend to not get fixed, my bugs are all still sitting around.

Regarding quest bugs (and bugs in general)...
The difficulty with most quest bugs (and bugs in general) comes primarily from the lack of information in bug reports submitted by people. In general, the less you tell us, the longer its going to take for us to look at it and fix it, because there will be other things we can replicate and fix more easily. Two bugs that were reported in detail are better than one that wasn't. There just isn't time for us to work through replicating all the bugs that are vague or indecipherable.
A few things REALLY help with quest bugs, and are often not reported:
1) If it involves a mob or item, even marginally, PLEASE list the numbers of the mobs/items involved. The single most important thing to do.
2) If it in any way involves a message or a mob saying or doing something, PLEASE quote the message or what was said or done. Like point #1, this makes it MUCH easier to track down and fix.
3) Don't just report that something went wrong, list what you were trying to do, how you were trying to do it, and when it went wrong. "Skill X didn't work" or "Mob Y didn't respond" means almost nothing.
4) Unfortunately, the person who could fix your bug may not have done the quest in question or be familiar with it. It really helps if you include the type of information in #2 as well as some information about the quest in general so that they can better determine where and how things went wrong.
Some of the bugs or problems that people have mentioned aren't even in the bug queue, and with all the things I could be doing, I guarantee I've forgotten they exist by the time I move away from the page I read them on. In 9/10 cases, if its not been reported with BUG, its not going to get fixed.
Obviously, this isn't directed at anyone in particular posting. That all said, I think the discussion of quest bugs has moved beyond the point of the thread, so lets get away from that. Put that time into writing excellent bug reports so we can clear out some of these things you mention!

I'm having serious trouble with the Presidio of the Damned at the moment. I'm pretty sure there's at least one quest there (in fact, I suspect there's actually two), but I have no idea how to begin. I've found some of the relevant items/areas, and I can interact with them. I sort of have an idea of what I'm supposed to be doing, but again, even after GREETing everyone and showing various items to people and mucking about in various areas, the best I managed to do was nearly die and get the black lung for reasons I'm still not quite sure of. I'm not looking for any hints, before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm just wondering if it's worth my while to continue poking around; I'm actually trying to find my way to another area entirely, and I suspect the quest is the way to do so. Am I wasting my time with this?
Esano2009-06-04 07:02:46
If you're trying to get to Shallamurine, you don't need to do the quest, but you do go through the Presidio.
As for Presidio quests ....
He ruthlessly assassinated the noble traitor at the Presidio of the Damned.

Ahh, thanks! Yes, Shallamurine was my destination. I get the feeling that there's a hidden exit that I'm missing. As for the quest, well, now my curiosity is piqued, I might be a bit more thorough in my investigation (that and the honours line confirms a suspicion I had).
EDIT: I think I've gotten somewhere - the only thing that bothers me is that if I'm wrong in my suspicion, I'll be enemied to the Presidio, which is not an outcome I'd really like (and which makes me suspect that I haven't come as close to solving it as I think)...

You don't get enemied to the Presidio for anything to get into Shallamurine, to my knowledge.

Once you've found the right guy, and have handed in all the evidence and such, you'll be told. From that point on, killing him won't enemy you to the Presidio.
Ryll2009-06-05 04:46:04
Ah, awesome, thanks! ...although this means I'm going to spend the next week trying to solve this damn thing . Whoever said earlier that mastermind puzzles seem to be really popular was right, too! Luckily I happen to enjoy them, so I'm not complaining.

It's about the sweet Stewart Quest I'm doing from yesterday
Motive and witness leading to the same person, weapon found and so on. It says something's missing. Is that normal?
PP. And somebody please tell that annoying assassin to stop showing, because I'll get a level up from him

There are generally two possibilities with the full set. Try them both.
