It's true. I haven't the patience to read most things. Three-panel web comics are pretty much my limit.

LOOK around, especially at the floor. I'm honestly surprised at how many people don't read descriptions/quest fluff text. Everyone who wonders "why didn't I get my dingbats?" at the end of the quest didn't read as carefully as they should have been, especially since a whole was devoted to explaining how to get them. *growl*

LOOKing actually didn't help me, but now I see that it could. I figured out the path by...pretty much trial and error (and I think someone was picking up my trail behind me the first time I tried this, actually). And a big, big thanks to all the bards who dropped milestones at the end who gave me a big hint as to what I was missing.

I used my tried-and-true method of dropping things on the floor to mark which room is which, plus a lot of trial-and-error and a hand drawn map.

Yeah, I had the benefit of a mob following me so I could recognize a certain thing happening that indicated getting off track.

Anyone care to explain to me in PM's what puzzle the Observatory puzzle is based on?

I'm trying to raise Imhohep to get myself unenemied to the kephera, but am getting stuck at this point:

CODE
You give the Banner of Hive Queen Imhohet to Hive King Imhatatep.
Hive King Imhatatep exclaims, "The hive must be protected!"
6420h, 4950m, 5610e, 10p exkdb<>-

Hive King Imhatatep fluidly steps in close to you, grasping your wrist in one hand and snaking his arm around your waist before flipping you solidly across his thorax and sending you to the ground.
You twist aside, deflecting part of the attack.
5845h, 4950m, 5610e, 10p exkdbp<>-

Am I missing something here? I recall a post by Estarra saying that she thought it wasn't too hard to raise Imhohep if you wanted to get unenemied. I assumed that this meant it is possible to do if you are enemied. Should I keep trying or will I need someone else to raise Her before I can get unenemied?

Someone else has to.

Is it possible to still do the Presidio quest if someone else has completed any of the other components? Argh.

Yes.

Will you fail the entire night bubble quest if you somehow managed to get the shadows before showing the web to the equinoxes?

EDIT:
Ignore, figured it out!

Has anyone done the Presidio of the Damned quest? I'm stuck. I can't unlock a bookcase and I can't find the gear wheel for the lift :/

Yes, you have to start by bringing packages to the chick.

It's pretty random, plus people will often go up and gain pieces of it during the course of bashing and not leave them behind. The best advice is to simply keep looking everywhere and trying things you've already tried. That's what I had to do.

Cannot find the last item I need for Malacoda. Moderately frustrated.

On a side note, someone on the building staff has a definite love of the phrase "on the slightest disturbance."
Unknown2010-04-21 02:33:39
I've been trying the quest in Arthar'rt Observatory at different times over the last few days, and have met and danced with frustration while trying to find a particular item of which I need five. I've found some - two - but not nearly enough. While looking for the other three, does receiving a message like this,

You push a wooden table and nothing happens.

versus one like this,

A wooden table is unaffected by your efforts.

mean that I'm doing the right thing, but at the wrong time, because someone else has been there just before me? Or should I be trying something different? Or is the quest broken, as I hear some sometimes are?

There are more hiding places than there are crystals. If you manipulate an item and don't get one, it just means it's not hidden there this time. If it helps, PROBE, PUSH, PULL, TURN, PRESS, USE, TOUCH are good quest buzz-words. As far as I know, that quest is working just fine.
Razenth2010-04-21 04:02:53
No effect means it has no response, nothing happens means it has a response with that syntax.

And since we're allowed to talk about these things... turn in the crystals as you get 'em.
