This happens at every wedding I've ever been to, so it sounds perfectly normal to me. Except at most of the weddings I go to, they make garter-boy put it on bouquet-girl's leg with his teeth.

I thought the groom was supposed to remove the garter from the bride's leg with his teeth, not the garter-boy put it on the bouquet-girl's leg with his teeth... that seems like a rather extreme interpretation of the custom.

Interestingly, I don't recall any of this (well, the boy-girl part) being done at any wedding I've attended, though I've only been to three. Maybe it depends on region, the religion in question, the people in attendance, and/or the ages (or other considerations) of the garter-boy and bouquet-girl.... chin.gif

We do both. Groom takes garter off of bride with teeth, bouquet and garter are thrown, then garter-boy puts garter on bouquet-girl with teeth. Perfectly normal.

Yeah, this is how it's gone at most of the weddings I've been to too. Well, the ones that weren't quickie Justice of the Peace deals, of course.

I now have a strange urge to do a JoP wedding that includes teeth-gartering.

Last garter toss I was at, they didn't do the awkward thing. laugh.gif

Yeah, are you sure this was a wedding you were at?

So I downloaded the new Avenged Sevenfold album (don't yell at me! I have it on pre-order, I just couldn't wait any more!) and it's so good. Way different from their other music, but I like it (I'm a fanboy, I admit it!)

Really sad songs. sad.gif It's turning me more emo than usual.

I've had such a gloriously lazy day today.

Woke up, played Lusternia. Logged off, ate something. Watched some Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then took a nap. Woke up, played some more Lusternia. Logged off, ate something, took another short nap. Fixin to watch some more Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After that, I might play some more Lusternia or take another nap. Who knows?

Just got back from a weekend of stick fighting. Sore all over and a smattering of bruises, but tons of fun and I learned a lot.

content.gif I've been smacking me and my friends up with sticks since I was a wee lad. It's fun, good excercise, and might be useful someday.

Making the most of my pedestrian-hitting problem in Crackdown 2 by waiting until night time to drive through the hordes of freaks milling about the streets content.gif

That said, if any of you have crackdown 2 and want to play, I'm krazydakman on xbox live. Just got it today, so I'm not far in, but I'll probably play it a lot tomorrow if anyone wants to join and get knocked off of buildings be involved in numerous grenade accidents regain control over the city, feel free to jump in biggrin.gif

There is something so serenely awesome about getting everything prepared for the next day the night before. Hooray organisation!

Congratulations! That's a skill some of us are still struggling with. I'm jealous. wink.gif

Preparation for the zombie apocolypse. -sagenod-

But yes, we do the same thing. When we're not running through fields like little children. >.>

I need to use my credit money to buy armor. Fighting is so much fun, but loaner gear sucks.
Everiine2010-07-26 22:18:43
Finally got my haircut. Feels so much better.

It's roughly twenty past the hour. I'm sitting outside my engineering tute room, for which the tutor has not turned up. I have my laptop and the uni has excellent wireless.

Damn you, Last Stand mode of DoW2 for being so addicting and fun.
