Wow. Playing Exalted with my friends, Silferras executes an incredible strategy that has had me laughing harder than I have in at least a couple of years. Good times.

That was incredible, yes.
Just saw it here at midnight. Only cried three times! Was rather amusing when the audience erupted in applause when Dobby monologued Bellatrix.

That was really funny, yes.
Dobby is a free elf.

ITALIAAAAAAAAAAA! I get to reprise my role as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte in Rome this summer! Tomorrow, wandering about downtown Chicago. Anyone have leads on foodie friendly places? I've one restaurant mapped out (Sunda) but am open to suggestions.
If you are in Chi-town you must find the nearest Giordano's and eat to your heart's content.

Turns out my brother made off with some of my weights. Now I can stop using jury-rigged schoolbooks.

Went to a drinking party last night, during the game kings I drew a king and came up with the most diabolical rule ever. You had to drink whenever you said a pronoun. Its hilarious hearing drunk people talking like cavemen and screwing up near constantly.

Should have told them that they had to drink whenever they used a prepositional phrase and then asked them how to find things constantly.

Got almost ten hours of sleep last night. Boy, did I need it. The cats have been keeping me awake. Last night I could barely see what I was typing as I was trying to log off and had actually literally passed out on the keyboard at one point.

Glee is the only reason how I survive the agonizing wait for okorushi to come back out again. Glee.

Ordered the last of the furniture that I need. I might get something else for the office some time, but this works for now. Glad to be done, its time consuming, expensive, and stressful, but I think I did well

I saw bagged milk in the supermarket today, it's such a silly thing, but it reminds me of home and I've been feeling a bit homesick lately.
(Not that I really want to be home at the moment, too much drama llamas going on in my family, but I miss Canada)

Saw the Deathly Hallows Part One last night. I especially loved the Story of the Three Brothers. The animation was just beautiful!

Sometimes I like to think about how wrong we are about what "futuristic" things are going to look like.
I mean, think back to old retro illustrations of what the world would look like in 2010, and how different they are from how things actually turned out, stylistically. Of course we don't have rocket cars and hover boards and whatever else sort of crazy invention we thought we'd have, but the entire aesthetic of the world is completely different from how anyone would have guessed it to be. When making something that's set far in the future, we seem to forget that the general aesthetic of a society changes naturally over time, and that high-tech future stuff probably won't just be sleeker, shinier versions of what we think looks good now.
I don't know, there's not really a point to thinking about things like this, but it's fun!

I did a whole semester independent study project on that very topic when I was getting my bachelor's degree. It was a really interesting subject for independent study because it encompassed such an interesting breadth of topics. The history of technology, and how the technology worked; historical science fiction literature; and creative writing, trying to write my own story that would be a better predictor, after identifying why some sci-fi writers got so much right and some got so much wrong. Terribly fun stuff.

It's an interesting thing to think about. Tvtropes has a useful article on it: Zeerust.

I also recommend a very early short story by William Gibson, "The Gernsback Continuum." There are links to the full text on the Wikipedia page about it.
