It's actually asparagus cooked in olive oil, and it's delicious. smile.gif Potatoes aren't paleo so I try to avoid those, but I occasionally put a little in stews. I'm planning a chicken stew later this week, will post a picture of it if it turns out ok.

Stew!

I should be getting my replacement compy back tomorrow. Except for my harddrive, it is inferior to my old one in every way, but it works. Not that I don't like using my girlfriend's laptop while she's away, but I crave more USB ports so I can plug everything in again.

Yeah, this is only the second time I've used mine, but it's awesome. Just throw a bunch of stuff in in the morning and when you get home dinner is ready.

I'm going to make pulled pork bbq this weekend in it.

They're really good if you want to make something like a roast, or other meals that take a few hours in the oven, don't have to worry about tying up the oven if you live with other people. Student friendly these are! smile.gif

I've been wanting to read some of the Warhammer/Warhammer 40k books, any suggestions for where I should start? I've never played the table top, I've only played some of Age of Reckoning and Dawn of War II.

From the 40k side, the Gaunt's Ghosts and the Ciaphas Caine novels are both very good. I've been less impressed with the books from Warhammer Fantasy, but the Gotrek and Felix books are usually fun.

I have two problems with crockpots: I'm afraid to leave home with them on and they tend to mummify any meat put into it (unless it is in a stew). That being said, I have had some quite tasty crocked meals

Thanks, I'll check those out.

And yeah, I was really nervous all day leaving the crockpot on, but it seems like everyone does it. A friend of mine at work was complaining about the dry meat thing. It seems like you pretty much have to cook the meat in some kind of liquid, whether it be broth or barbecue sauce or wine.

I got an A for the elective I was so worried about! And a GPA of 4.4 for my first semester ever! Woohoo!
Razenth2011-01-20 19:33:19
I don't even know how that is possible.

Some schools are on different scales. So 6 points might be the highest, and then an A+ is worth more than an A.

My high school was technically on a four point scale, but advanced placement and dual-enrollment classes were weighted credits, which basically just meant an A was 5 points, B was 4, and so on down the scale. And everyone was pretty much expected to take those courses and do well in them so a lot of kids ended up with GPA's over 4.

I like my eclectic taste in music biggrin.gif At the weekend I heard some quite excellent choral. On monday I was listening to music composed by a blind American guy who used to dress as a Viking. Yesterday a line from the film "I am legend" got me listening to 2 hours of Bob Marley, and tonight a throwaway quote by my manager "flash ahaa, saviour of the universe..." has me listening to Queen. smile.gif

My uni is on a 5 point scale, but I managed to get 4 As and 2 Bs. I'm not sure how pluses and minuses affect the score, but, yay!

Now, to make sure it stays there and doesn't drop too much the very next semester.
