So, sitting at work today I was approached by my uncle who is a police officer. He tells me that the sergeants, lieutenant, and chief have all been speaking positively of my work performance lately. According to one of the sergeants (who normally hates most everyone) said that I was the best dispatcher in the department. Which I found quite shocking. The Lieutenant and chief have both said to my uncle that I'm the most reliable dispatcher and may get a full time position sometime soon. The weird part is I'm so unused to praise in any capacity, especially coming from a grocery store where the managers treat people like trash. I guess I should be more excited, but I'm kind of waiting for the punch-line though I guess that's due to low self-esteem. Ah well.

TLDR:
My supervisors are actually giving me very positive reviews, which is a very new thing to me.

Realised I still have 29 days of holiday remaining to take by the end of August and as a result have booked the next two days off work to catch up on stuff like sorting out my finances, doing a bit of DIY and just relaxing at home. I think I may also go into london and buy the last released set of MTG cards so I can refresh my memory on how the heck you actually play (I haven't played in about 4 years!), because I'm still planning to go to the Pre-release tournament on Saturday.

It's really nice when you go in to ask your lecturer for advice on what resources you should be using, and they suggest a video like La Haine. What a good movie.

Mad Men is an amazing series that gets better with each episode. My only regret is that I didn't start watching sooner. And I'm learning so much about Americans! Surprisingly progressive for its setting and exploration of so many social movements. Really recommend it - love Peggy, Pete, Betty, and Sal =D

Food-related raves! First of all, I made meatloaf for the first time, from memory, without a recipe. It was fantastic!

Also, we got salad today. I haven't eaten salad since I moved out in August, so ZOMG YES SALAD.

I can't wait to try out some other new recipes! So happy. I'm going to make homemade soup from scratch.

I have food in my apartment again! Milk and orange juice, bananas, soup, bread, PB&J! My tummy likes me very much right now.
