I dunno. I couldn't get into it. Too much poop and stuff, I guess.
Llesvelt2011-02-08 23:09:49
I did not really like it for the first few hundred updates neither, but I have come to enjoy the development.

How can you read something you dislike for a few 100 updates??

Early on, Homestuck still ran like the other MSPA stories- readers submitted actions through the submission box, and those were used to move the story forward. After a while Hussie realized it wasn't going to work for this one, since it was more planned and story-oriented than its silly predecessors. The suggestion box was making things drag on, and distracting from what was supposed to be happening. Once the suggestion box is dropped, things pick up considerably.

It's kind of like crack. >.> Also, it's worth it. It gets really good!
EDIT: Also, it's good to keep in mind that an "update" of Homestuck is more like a panel of a comic, than a page.

I was pretty sure it was going to be amazing later on.
Same reason I watch every single video released by video game reviewers, even if the first ones are horrible. Same with anything, really. Must see all of it, even in cases where there is no overreaching story to pay attention to and thus no reason to watch the first few updates. I have a theory that this is due my Asperger, I have spent many hours straight reading, now.
It is like that all the time, really, it is wonderful. I get all immersed in it, I have a hard time letting it go or do anything else until I am up to date. It is only if the updates do not get better and I have no reason to believe they will get better that I stop reading/watching/whatever.

I finished a commentary news article and I feel like the official voice of the nerds. Yay for obligatory Pokemon and DnD references! Dorks need love too!

Applied at a pet supply store, Dunkin' Donuts, and Starbucks today. The Dunkin' Donuts manager guy talked to me and I was like OHGODOHGODOHGOD in my head but I think I gave it my best "socially normal" impression. And I bought a muffin. While I am happy I applied places, I am FLIPPING TERRIFIED about what to do if they actually call me back or something. o_o I didn't really plan for that outcome.

If you get the pet supply job think of it this way. Puppies and Kitties! You'll see em quite a lot and they'll be all adorable and such. Dunkin donuts and starbucks? Free (Or discounted) coffee, and doughnuts. Look at the perks of the jobs, I found that it helps quite a bit.

Dunkin Donuts interviewer was probably like "Hmmm...she bought a muffin. I bet she plays text games."

Dunkin' Donuts. It's probably because I begrudgingly agreed that I could come in at 5am if they really needed me to. WHY DID I DO THAT??

Congratulations!
And, well, going in at 5am, means you'll prolly get off earlier in the day so you won't have wasted all your daylight hours at work!

Do what I do if I have to get up at an ungodly hour. Simply don't go to sleep at all
