Ok here is my checklist of areas I need to do :
Hallifax
Air elemental
coninuum
Gaudiguch
Fire elemental
gaudi cosmic
bottledowns
maeve garden
roc peaks
manitcore peaks
please help by telling me what else
also just thought about the continuum layers i can label each layer with the two stones used, eg opal and onyx for the layer with the matrix

Not to take away from Xenthos's one-page map of the Continuum, I'm posting here (at Doman's request) all you need to navigate it, not depicted graphically but logistically. That will make it seem very simple, almost boring, in the service of making it easy to follow.
Worked great for me, thanks.

The colour is just a wee bit distracting, but it's pretty simple in concept-- rooms along the even plane connect to the center by east/west/north/south, the diagonal ones connect diagonally. Just walk to the colour you want to get to the sphere you want, and head to the center.
Melds on this will be super-fun.
Here it is.

I like yours better, but neither of them really conveys what it's like to be there. That can't be done in two dimensions, though, or even in three. I've tried.

I've folded 13 levels of prime Hallifax into 6 maps and attempted to group things across multiple elevations together based on which ones you'd access from which other ones, not merely by altitude. But good luck figuring out what the links are between any of these things and each other even within a map, let alone across them. About all I think this might help with is, once you've already learned it, it could be a reference, and in the process of figuring it out, you can use this to fill in gaps.
I am having the trouble you expected trying to use this map. What would help immensely would be if the elevation of each little cluster was specified. I am slowly figuring that out on my own though, and you were more than nice enough to put up the map as it is.

Great job, and while hung over too!
Do Hallifax next!

I've never seen Globglob where you show him, only at the device... but maybe that's because I've only gone up there to prevent or counter the quest, never to do it?
Esano2009-12-30 14:01:30
That room's closed off (with Globglob inside it?) until you repair the Centre, whereupon he shows up at the device. The roomname is the chambers of Globglob Mesherbrub, though.
Caffrey2009-12-30 16:40:43
Sorry but Hallifax is taking me longer than I expected because ZMUD is pants at handling up/down. So here is an interim map.
The seven room Transdimentional Flux Core is linked to the six up directions (in the centre of the squares - the gemstone generators) on the left hand layer. I will do numbering/lettering and links later. Haven't got to the middle rooms of the right hand layer, yet.
The main design seems to be two multi-elevation layers which are linked by the rooms at the edges.

The room he's showing it at isn't closed off normally, though. Maybe it's one behind that one?

Uh... that north is normally closed off unless Globglob is up, yes. I had to raise him to get that room on my map.
Lendren2009-12-30 18:57:36
Okay. Well, I believe you guys, apart from that you're wrong. I've been in it many times with no Globglob up. I even have a log where I died it in during the process of killing Norchatine to prevent Globglob. But I bet it's just more complicated than any of us think, so we're probably all right in some way or another.

The room probably lingers after Glob is dead a bit until a reset timer for the quest clicks, which would yield that situation.
Lendren2009-12-30 19:17:21
Probably something like that, though I doubt that specific one.
Rika2009-12-30 19:29:17
Pretty sure Xenthos and Esano are right on this one. I have never seen it open when Globglob isn't alive.
Lendren2009-12-30 21:32:03
I don't know, and it doesn't really matter. I was only trying to help Caffrey in case of a mistake... doesn't really matter otherwise. Maybe it got changed somewhere along the way, or something. Maybe it's a bug, it's supposed to go away, and it kept not going away at the right time. Maybe it gets opened early into the process and stays open indefinitely. I just know I was up there once an hour every day for months, including times when Globglob hadn't been up in weeks, and every time I needed a getaway spot, it was there, without fail. We'll probably never know. But if Caffrey's map isn't wrong it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. (Though you guys are so definite, it makes me wonder if we're talking about a different room or something...)
