The issue being, of course, that the majority of the mobs that give the most xp when killed are not influencable.

About blackout: what things can you see, and what things can't you see? Does it conceal certain messages, then let everything else through?

And the lack of influencing criticals.

I guess influencing, ignoring guard influencing for now, has two major problems: it is too good at low-mid levels, and useless from mid-high levels. Makes it very hard to balance it either way.

Question: How does feeding your beast work?

Can you dump 100 feed into the feedbag at once? Will it decay while in the feedbag? How does the stable feed thing work?

You know, I'm not sure about the latter. Influencing guards is not worth much, but since many people in Magnagora did not seem to bother with it, it was a viable source of experience while I was there. There were a few guard clots and by the time I made the rounds the first clot had been refreshed, allowing me to perpetually gain, however little.

Ironically, I intend to make the next 84% to Level 80 through Influencing.

Question: Are there any benefits beyond no longer needing sleep or food that come with Supramortal?

Yeah, guard influencing is like a whole different league of its own. That needs its own fixing.

As for Supramortal, yeah, that's it. That's awesome enough already, for me.

Sorry. I missed the ignoring part. Bedtime, last all-nighter. Please.

You can dump four (or five, I don't know, it never takes more than four per feedbag for me, but it's been a while) feed into the feedbag at once, and each feed takes an IG day to be eaten - basically, it goes down once every RL hour, after which you can replenish it with another feed. Stable feeding means that even without your beast being outside, it'll still eat from its feedbag before chomping into stablefood.

Does that make sense?
Unknown2009-03-24 12:53:55
Hrm, what is the difference between stable food and feedbag food?

If you stable your beast and tell him to eat from his feedbag, he'll eat that before being sustained by the stable food. The feedbag food, which you put in, is what makes your beast grow in various ways and accept the reagents so he can be trained in mind/body/spirit. The stable food just keeps him from dying.

It blocks most everything. You can tell when you get eq or balance back, and then things on your prompt can let you know if you are prone or whatever.
Enero2009-03-24 17:01:54
It doesn't block all messages, just most of them... I had the question some time ago and the closest I got to an answer was... blackout does not block things that give "you feel" kind of messages. Crotamine is the first thing that comes to my mind... even in blood you will get the "you feel blood starting to drip out of your nose"... or whatever the message was.

If you have several afflictions which are cured by the same thing,
a) is there a predetermined list of priorities of the curing? Or
2. is the curing random? Or
c) does it cure according to the order you were given the afflictions, first to last or last to first?

In case of "a", does anyone know the priorities for horehound afflictions?

Almost everything is randomly cured. There are one or two things that are cured in a specific order, and one or two things have subsets of random (such as "fix one of these, if they have it, or one of these, otherwise").

I thought as much, thank you. happy.gif

Forged from dark iron, this kite shield is approximately twice as long
as it is wide. Broad at the top with a rounded edge, the shield tapers
to a point at its base, and is slightly curved to hug close to the body
in defense. As a decorative touch, a thick band of silver runs along
each edge and is embossed with an abstract geometric design.
It has 144 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 260 pounds.

Near twice the size of a long sword, this giant blade requires two hands
to use. The blade is forged of polished steel, sharply edged on both
sides with a flat, sharp point. The hilt is fashioned out of silver into
the form of the upper body of a dragon. Its wings are outspread to make
the guard, detailed down to the tiny scales between the ribs. Its neck
has been stretched out to form the handle, the scales picked out in fine
antiquing. Its open-mouthed head forms the pommel, detailed down to the
tiny fangs that spring from the jaws.
It has 172 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 8 pounds.

Now to my question: Why is it that my big two-handed sword only weighs 8 pounds and this simple kite shield weighs over 250 pounds?
Oh and who really drags that stuff along with em?
Unknown2009-03-24 21:45:43
Holy crap that kite shield is heavy! That makes no sense unless its for like Igasho/Taedae use only or something. But then again weight and how much people carry doesn't really match up very well anyhow.
Vhaas2009-03-24 22:16:16
It must be wrought of moon ore. My research tells my they typically weighed 6-12 pounds. Even if you are a Tae'dae... that's more like a tower shield. Or a shield tower.
