It used to be bugged and just always gave the same day.
It seems better now (though I haven't exhaustively examined it).

Is anyone knowledgeable bored enough to compose a list of afflictions and brief descriptions of what they do exactly?

That's not what I would call a simple question. Heh. Sounds like something that should go into a wiki somewhere, so we can all update it with our own experiences and keep it accurate.
Unknown2009-04-03 13:04:54
Xiel has a partially completed list on his googlepages.
Gwylifar2009-04-03 14:31:43
There's been some progress on the afflictions list in the Scrying Pool lately too, though it has a long way to go.

Ah, so it adds 15 to damage, precision and speed?
Edit: Related question: Does precision affect accuracy at all, or just wounding?

Shop Policies...
I have this in my shop:
Number Policy Affects Price Policy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#350 Dekoven -10%
#349 Dekovens -7%
#120 Celest -5%
Now I know everybody that belongs in the family Dekoven also belong to the clan Dekovens. Will the game determine the higher discount or randomly distribute depending on mood, shape of the moon and whether naked virgins have danced around an altar of blood?
This is ditto to member of Celest who are also members of the other two I guess.

I feel like there's some clause in that help file about what happens if a customer falls into two categories, but I could be wrong. My gut feeling is that they'll get the better discount.
Arin2009-04-03 21:07:39
Maybe I should reread the file
So I'm guessing since Dekoven is the highest discount and at the top, it applies first.

Shop policies do not combine in any way, so they must be chosen with care. For
example, if someone is a member of a city and a guild, both of whom get some
sort of discount, only one of those will apply. At this point, it is difficult
to tell which one will apply, though almost certainly the one that shows up
first on the price policy list. The same is true for conflicting policies, such
as a discount and a markup.
Refusals of service override all, and are always applied first, before markups
or discounts.

Is there a similar work in progress concerning the technical effects of different combat/buff abilities?
In other IRE games some abilities are described quite ambiguously, as in not explaining excatly what affliction they give or leave something such as "psst, this attack has a 3 second stun in addition to the aforesaid affliction" out.
Unknown2009-04-04 06:03:21
The Scrying Pool has a rough description of how the abilities work.

The bugs I submit are usually regarding quests and my inability to solve them, but the typical response I have received for that is something like "Your bug has been noted and processed. Type SHOWBUGS to see...etc."
Rika2009-04-04 06:21:26
Yes, that is the generic "not a bug" response.
