I wonder how much memory all those messages take up

You're assuming there is a friendly neighbourhood steward / treasurer / council member. ohmy.gif

If I could give just the priv for revlog, I wouldn't mind for some people. Aides are The Evil™ though. sad.gif

Am I part of those people? /hopeful

And yeah, it'd be nice if the Ministers are able to change the privs available to the aides.

Disk space is so cheap, the memory size wouldn't matter, costwise. Maybe it slows down the database or something though.

Messages in Lusternia are still stored in a flat file structure, as far as I know, and that gets slower and slower the more it grows. Achaea saw a noticeable decrease in lag when they switched to their new SQL-based message system.

My system treats antidote as needing potion balance, like fire, choleric, etc. I've never noticed it needing a separate balance of its own.

I'll have to test some more, but I didn't notice any "purgative, or curing potion" balance regained messages when curing with antidote the other day. That surprised me since I was only allowing antidote to be sipped if I had potion balance. Sipping too early still gives the "...has no effect." message naturally.

I have noticed that quicksilver has its own balance though.

Thanks for that information. I'll have to set that up.

I remember in Achaea before the change where someone had a heinous amount of messages and everytime they would check them it lagged the whole game. The admins might want to look into the message system here as well.

We definitely used to have that here, I remember Aesyra lagging everyone out constantly because of it (damn you Aesyra.) I think we eventually convinced her to delete them though...that or it was fixed.

So that's what happened during the Ascension Trial.

I'm confused. What do you mean?

If you make a design, and allow mortal review, but it is then flagged for divine review (presumably by the mortal reviewer), does it languish in an "IN" bin somewhere until the world flies off its orbit and plunges into the sun due to global warming?

Really, it's only been a day, but the "needs divine review" flag looks like a big, red kiss of death. tongue.gif

To answer your question: you might be a drama queen. wink.gif

They take longer then, but it's not as bad as it was. When the mortal review system was new, "needs divine review" was 2-3 weeks waiting, but now it's usually only a day or two -- still a lot shorter than regular designs in pre-mortal-review days.

Manse post offices, are they default doves, or something else?
Ayisdra2010-03-18 18:46:27
The Theatre submission year, this is every two years, yes? (so the next would be...this year, 260. then 262,264...and so on)

Then I suddenly realize that I must be blind or something. Thanks Zallafar, your information was correct about both the antidote and quicksilver.

Every odd-numbered year, I believe.

Ah, wasn't sure if Celest stole doves to be their org bird or not.
Unknown2010-03-18 20:49:31
I'm pretty sure Celest is supposed to use seagulls.
