Mederrach has a book about all this, but we don't really have enough info to say anything about the spheres or the elemental planes. We don't even know if all nexuses hit the elemental planes. And remember, Edifice of power and Nexus are apparantly different

Sorry, what's an edifice of power and how does it differ?
Doman2010-03-30 21:04:42
With an Edifice, you could apparantly just use it to raise a vernal god right off, from the histories, it seemed more just a power reserve than a planar anchor

Well we know not all Nexi connected to elemental/cosmic realms, look at the Moonhart/Ravenwood.

Anyone happen to know if a tierstone can be made permanent? Even though it is a jeweler's creation, I assume it is not as simple as using a jewelry rune.
Unknown2010-03-30 22:01:45
Nope. A Tierstone cannot be made permanent. dry.gif

I've always thought of the elemental planes and the ethereal plane as being the same thing, but you can only reach one of each type. Like, the elements combine to create an area of sustainable life, which begins as ethereal and then becomes physical on prime?

So, it goes prime (real nature), ethereal (becoming real nature), elemental (components of nature), cosmic (spiritual coherence), astral (chaos).

An edifice is probably like a giant powerstone.

Ok, I need to stop because I think approximately zero people know what I am doing here. suspicious.gif

Am I the only one that's trying to learn linear algebra to complete the scrumhog crystal puzzle and the one in Hifarae?

You'd be surprised.

The Forest Nexii weren't constructed though. They were planted. Also, not all nexii went up to Astral. Even assuming that the Healer dude was raised in a previous incarnation of the Pool of Stars (since it seems he could visit Celestia), there's still all our current nexii + the other eight vernals, and the emerald egg. Most likely several others too.
Everiine2010-03-31 02:52:10
I get the impression that the Ethereal Plane and the Elemental/Cosmic Planes are fundamentally different in most regards.

Ethereal is a reflection of life on Prime. Elementals are basically avatars of the elements themselves.

Dvarsha was raised from the Spire of Glomborolum.

Shanth from the Claws of Liberty, renamed later to the Claws of Shanth, on the Moors somewhere, I think.

The Emerald Egg, I can't remember the Vernal for.

Tzariziko was from either the Great Pyramid of Alin'Dor or the Crystal Spire of Lacenti.

We don't know what Klangratch's edifice was, but it was in the fortress of Grimkeep.

Much like Klangratch, we only know that Juliana was from the city of Climanti.

Kiakoda....I have no clue about. Was she from Serenwilde, Ackleberry, or something..? May have been one of the Trees that raised Her. Makes sense.

Vestera was from the Bubbling Cauldron in the Ghalphalshi swamps and created the art of Genderbending, which was later perfected by Nejii. Also Illusions and Dreamweaving, but those are less important.

Dionymus/Shaothane was raised by the White Shell in Alabellalum, Which is now part of the arena in New Celest, I believe.

Urlach is another whose Edifice and city of origins seem to be forgotten.

However, most of these Edifices were destroyed. In fact, aside from the Shell and the Claws, I don't remember any references to any of the edifices being around still. As I recall, though, each great forest held a Tree whose nut was recieved from the Tree of Trees by the first Druids. I want to say this was after the Vernal Wars were over, can someone verify that?

In either case, that means that the only three 'active' edifices are the Claws, the Shell, and the Egg that I'm aware of. Add in the four City nexii and the four trees for a total of 11. There's also the Soulforge in Duum, but I don't think that counts. I THINK the understanding is that each Obelisk in the villages could become a Nexus if the people of the village ever grew populous enough to warrant it.

The trees were planted long after the last 9. Kiakoda wasn't from the Moonhart.

Since the nexii reach up to astral, and there's 12 astral planes... there were either 12 nexii, or astral adds planes when a new one is built... or we don't have access to all the planes? smile.gif

I think a good selection for new prime areas would be to go down from astral to the tainted parts of the prime plane where the ruined nexii are smile.gif

To clarify, Serenwilde and Glomdoring have some link to the Astral plane(most likely just because of wild nodes) but their nexus does not connect there directly like the cities do. Also these links may not have been formed until after Project Cosmic Hope.

Depending on how elemental works, there is always the possibility that there are cross-elemental planes out there though unlikely. You would also expect that there are many more cosmic creches, we simply do not have the ability to connect to these which could be interesting. All the creches that the gods came from becoming available for us to access.
