It's not a serious question on my end, just idle banter. I like to find semi-plausible explanations for nonsensical fantasy (and science fiction) mechanics wherever possible.
"Everyone hears Minor Second, but the damage is directed, and Shields block the damaging portion" is an acceptable explanation. Sorry, Zarquan, but "It's magic!" doesn't cut it, one could use that for anything under the sun.
That's how I thought computers worked in the 1980s... thanks, Dad. (My father got most of his inspiration for fatherhood from Calvin and Hobbes collections, I think).

Assuming I have waterwalking from the enchantment, is there any reason for me to train a beast with Swimming? The same question goes for Diving in Environment or Tracking, and training a beast with Diving.

I don't think there'll be much. There will be some new players then who won't have vacuums, but the lion's share of possible customers at any given time are the people who've been around a long while. We'll probably sell more of them for gift-giving and picnics than for preservation (actually maybe we already do). But like I said, it's not that big a deal.

You can get more than one? :/
QUOTE (Eventru @ Apr 27 2010, 06:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You shouldn't be able to get more than one per character.
If you are, you need to report that.

Pretty sure he means he got three of his alts run through at separate times. There are only really about 4 actual players playing Lusternia. Shaddus' alts account for 95% of the character base.

My "It's magical" post was just for those who are looking for realism in a game such as this. Even just finding logical explanations can be a challenge sometimes.
I wish my dad had taken more inspiration from Calvin and Hobbes. I sure did.![biggrin.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif)

The Cave of Chance, right around where blackjack and roulette are.

As a new player who knows noone with an Aethership, is there any way for me to get one of these vacuum dingbat thingers? I have the vacuum, just haven't found any of the things I need to find
EDIT: also, just for the record, you guys have REALLY weird names for things. In general playing Lusternia makes me wonder if/what the Gods here are smoking. (Which is awesome as humor in certain other IRE games seems to be rather stifled)

There's no way to get there other than with either an aethership, or a series of special artifacts called bubblixes. (Two very minor exceptions exist but are not worth mentioning.) Ask your city/communemates if they can help, there's probably someone around some of the time who can get you to some of the places. It might take a while, though. Don't be discouraged if no one can help you; try again a few hours later.

So the quest is still available, so long as you already have the vacuum?
Lendren2010-04-27 17:09:56
I don't know. If you push the button, does it still tell you what you need? If so, probably, and you'll have to check by trying. If you (or anyone else) finds out for sure, post about it, since a few people have asked but no one has answered.
Ileein2010-04-27 17:20:20
From my attempts, it is indeed possible to complete the vacuum quest as long as you are already in possession of the vacuum. I am not certain whether this will be the case forever, though.
Lendren2010-04-27 20:26:37
Still is now; I just helped Demie finish it about an hour ago.
Doman2010-04-27 21:14:17
Where does the mold commander go?
Ssaliss2010-04-27 21:53:32
Cankermore (or the same as the undead commander, in case I remember the wrong bubble-name).

This is accurate. It probably won't be that way forever, but I don't see it (mind I could be wrong, so don't stall!) changing until everyone's had ample time to finish up.

I'm not sure, but I -THINK- that diving and waterglide work while mounted whereas the enchantments/skills don't. I know that when I was diving with waterwalk on, I could move around freely on my Turtle, but not my Hippogriff.

Can I have a hint as to where to find the golden feather in the moors?
I've been looking for ages.

I am not 100% certain on this but I am pretty sure the loboshigaru in that one place has it.

Diving requires you to swim, even with waterwalk up, if you're on foot. No clue how it works with mounts.
