Thanks very much! And thanks Ixion, too!

Basically, they were designed to allow non-coms to partake in defense. They'd become the guardian and be able to fight. Seeing how the guardian is a NPC (technically), they'd likely be immune to afflictions, but they'd also be limited as to what they could do while piloting.

I don't think it has ever been utilized though.

Ah, thanks. So there's no descriptions of these guardians or anything? Curious if they look different for each org.

They are.

Well, 200 power isn't hard to come up with. You could always create one and see for yourself. And if it doesn't use your name in CT/says, you can always freak people out with one. suspicious.gif

One of the main problems (as far as I see it) is that only guild protectors can use them, while guild protectors are also the ones most involved in PK (most of the time), which makes guardians kinda... useless. It would likely see more use (at least if you ask me) if guardians could be used by a bigger set of people, such as everyone over CR4 or so.

Or if they could be made by a protector and loaned out, and they cost significantly less.

The helpfile makes me think of those little Transformers robots, but with remote control...

I can't imagine any Guardian being better than running up there myself, doing snafu and firing hexes at people. :x
-goes to test it out-

Are there any IC clans for Playwrights/Actors/creative sorts in general?

We have a city. suspicious.gif

Ok. I've decided to go Axelord (finally), but right now I'm Blademaster with a pair of shortswords. I haven't sunk any lessons into BM, so I'm just changing specialization at will so I can try them out. I know that most knights prefer to dual wield while bashing because it increases the number of crits you get. However, I'm not level 50 yet so I'm incapable of landing a critical.

Here are my questions:
1) When I switch to Axelord, should I forge an axe for myself and use it until I can crit, or just stick with the shortswords regardless?

2) Does investing lessons into Axelord increase accuracy with other weapons too, even if it's not as much as for axes?

I should just get an unofficial mentor in the Serenguard (I bought 25 credits and only realized afterward that I couldn't take an official mentor anymore. Oops.) and bug him/her with these questions but I'm not sure who to approach. It's a requirement for advancement, but I haven't spent enough time getting to know people. It would feel really weird and contrived.

EDIT: Bad Casilu! Bad! No telling the newbies to Come2Hallifax. laugh.gif

I'm not sure Halli is really my bag. All of the guilds seem to lean towards the science/philosophy aspect rather than the art side of things.

Those are two of the three ways to get to city rank 6 in Hallifax. suspicious.gif

An unofficial one works just fine-- you're not the first person to buy credits early smile.gif .

What's the third way? Sleeping your way to the top? Because I imagine sex with a lucidian is like being raped by an icicle.

You could probably join the Aeromancers, they seemed fairly... balanced in terms of the paths you could follow. That, or you could just recruit everyone you know and more into playing the game so we can get the population to bring the bards out, I believe it is the Estarra and Co supported option.

No, get elected into a position that automatically makes you cityrank 6.

Silly Jack. (Mud)Sexual favors are always a way to the top in any IRE mud. rolleyes.gif

Or the bottom, depending on your preferences.

I think I'd rather spork myself in the eye than play a demesne class. tongue.gif

And I don't know anyone who would really be into the game. I'm not really a newbie, but I've been having some issues lately. I've discovered that I really really really need other people for me to enjoy this game, and I've been having a hard time "stumbling" into any RP. Hence the hoping there was a clan I could join and get some insta-connections.
