I don't know if this is a joke or what buy I would be so on board with that.

Is Music damage still 50/50 Int/Cha or has it been changed to 100% Cha?

I don't remember the brackets being there a year ago.

Excuse me, Elostian. Vacation? I didn't see the paperwork for that. Where's your clearance?

It was kinda a joke, but I think that they could actually do it. It would be a little different, but if they have fans perhaps the style could have evolved from performance art. Their focus being on perfecting their art, especially if the kata spec includes some hints of artistry.

Just random ideas, but it could be interesting to see.

Here's our initial design for hallifax monks:

Most of their skills will revolve around them having bookbinding as a trade skill.

I guess it's to do with the fact that you have to be a protector to become a secretary. Even without any special privs it kinda comes off like putting just anyone who shows an interest in teaching novices in an undersec position.

I've scrolled through and haven't seen anyone respond to this, so I will. You do not have to be a protector to be a Secretary. I've been a guild Secretary twice and never once a protector (cause, seriously, laugh.gif me?). You have to be an Undersecretary to be a Secretary. Undersecs are appointed by GA, then, the GM can advance one to the position of Sec.

Security and Protectors work the same way, only the GC appoints Protectors who the GM can then advance to Security. Undersecretary/Secretary and Protector/Security don't have anything to do with each other as far as the office itself goes, though people can, obviously be both.

tongue.gif meant security, obviously.

And cause you have posted, would you use guardians to help out if you could pilot them?

Well, when we're being raided, I already do jump in and help as much as I can. But, actually, yes. I really would. It sounds like these things only have a couple of attacks you have to remember (as opposed to the fifty thousand different things my character can do) so it might actually be easier for me to focus and not freak out. laugh.gif I'd prolly be way more helpful and effective if I were driving one of those things.

Who wouldn't want to pilot a big magical mecha?
Ssaliss2010-07-15 15:04:53
Only speaking for myself, but I certainly would. That would mean I could actually do something when raids come aside from standing at the nexus wasting essence...
Saran2010-07-15 15:10:12
The second question being, do you think you would want to be made a guild protector to be able to do this?

How about something like this

Also, I agree with Elostian. Come2Hallifax. We live in a flying crystal city, our nexus is called "The Matrix", and our rituals spec is time magic.
Although some people seem to want the KGB feel to the city, it really isn't like that (yet, at least).

Quick note on the nexus guardians-

The ones for Gaudi, at least, are unpilotable, either by a bug or my fail. But if you treat them like an ent, they're amazing. I want another 200 discretionary power just to try it in a spar...

Something like 600~700 damage, with three/four attacks for every one of mine.

Of course, it might just be that it's broken but since no one's ever tested it, I have no way of knowing. whistling.gif

If it has to be done, it has to be done. I'd prefer having other restrictions though (such as CR4 or so) since it is a city/commune defence and not directly guild-related.

According to the HELP-file, that'd be a bug. They're supposed to be piloted and you'd be put out of phase, and they're apparently only supposed to be used for off-plane defense (which shouldn't include arenas). If you can summon them on prime and they work just like an ent... well, bug'em.

I summoned it on Fire, tried to do stuff with it (none of which worked), so I ended up just bugging it and pretending it was an ent because it was kind of cute in an 8-foot tall fleshy kind of way...

And it behaved like an ent.

Followed me to Prime, attacked and went passive, that sort of thing. Though really, I ended up asking someone to kill it in the end because I wasn't sure if killing it would still kill me (as per the helpfile).

Sadly, I didn't die and I ended up just wasting a perfectly good golem. sad.gif

Does this mean I can create and drive a nexus guardian? Note: I am not a protector, and am only an aide to the librarian. I do have GA and have achieved the commune rank of Shadow Warden (which is the highest non-elected, non-appointed commune rank).

I would assume so. Could be tied to the GA (those get all guild privs, if I understand correctly)?
