Did any admin ever say anything about the possibility of trading in dingbat artifacts?
Unknown2009-01-18 18:01:36
Dingbat artifacts show up on ARTIFACT LIST and have credit values assigned. I traded one in that I received from Ironbeard/Gnomes for credits.

What did you trade in, and how?

Oh, it was one of the shimmering rainbow vials, I believe, and maybe they are set up as artifact vials? Oh well for the other things, then.

All the vial things seem to have a set price.
Every never-ending vial trades in for 40 credits.
(Seriously. 40 credits for a never-ending vial of health? Hah!)
Ashteru2009-01-18 19:08:01
Well, my snout has no value.

Yes. Bottomless. Never have to refill or buy another health potion again.
There are health, mana, and ego ones.

I thought they just had double capacity.

That's a different artifact vial.

I checked again, and the dingbat vials are only for double sips, as are the normal artifact vials. I think you're thinking of the vials in the other IRE games?

Nope!
They do, indeed, exist in Lusternia. They're just auction-artifacts (never released to the general public). I haven't bought a health potion in 3 RL years or so at this point, for example. And it is priced at 40 credits.
So, as I said, all the vials seem to have a set price no matter what their source / use.

Ahh! That's pretty cool. I'd love to have one of those! Definitely worth more than 40 credits.
Lawliet2009-01-19 00:24:33
Maybe, but if it was an auction he might've paid several hundred credits for each of them, so... even in that long a time I probebly would've made a loss.

Should I give up some lessons and Trans Influence? I hear the Experience from Influencing Guards is godlike.

False. The serious raves about guard influencing is due to the fact that there are a lot of guards, and that they're probably on a safe place for you to influence.
Still, I'll welcome another competitor on the influencing/esteem market any day. Especially a Celenwilder

But look at Jozan! All he does is influence guards, non-stop, and he's already hit titan!

But look at all those demigods! All they do is bash, non-stop, and they've already hit demigod! /rant
On a serious note, influencing is only fast at low-70s. Above 70s, it'll be slow going, even guard influencing. Bashing would be faster in terms of xp/hour. Guard influencing is just safer.
Edit: Sorry if I sound snippy or rude, but I'm just frustrated at all this talk about guard influencing. You just happened to be the last straw on the camel's back. But honestly, you just answered your own question. Jozan does it non-stop. Obviously he's going to hit something sometime. But, enough of this already. /sidetrack
