18 dex, 9 con, 16 int, 17 cha
Level 2 forest regen, level 3 sip bonus, level 1 fast herb balance, flight
14 dex, 11 con, 16 int, 16 cha
Level 1 forest regen, level 0 sip bonus, level 1 fast herb balance, level 1 psychic resistance.
Wild elfen's still likely the best for SS though, furrikin is suboptimal.

Why is TOKE a command?
Razenth2009-02-17 08:22:55
That was you? Got that quoted.

Did you quote the wrong racial stats? Or do we have flying squirrels now?

The correct answer is that Shiri's furry fetish is so pervasive that he can't tell the difference between humanoid butterflies and humanoid foxes.

I'm a Spiritsinger Bard. Was just wondering if someone could give me the run-down on how much different the play style (thinking of combat and hunting) would be between Wild Elfen and Furrikin.
p.s. Hai forums!

Did you just not figure out that I was comparing them as a response to Celina's point yet? The point was that wild elfen aren't "the best bard spec."

2 con is worth a whole lot more than 1 cha and sip bonus. It's pretty well-established that aslaran can take more of a beating than shadowcasters when fire isn't being thrown around, and that's 2 con and something like five levels of sip difference.
EDIT: And it's not an option for the poor guy! Don't confuse
Shiri2009-02-17 17:14:09
I want to see this "well established" somewhere, especially after the sip bonus changes. The forest regen, flight and dex are all non-negligible too (well, you could argue the flight is negligible since it's also an artefact, but still.)

My question, more defined. What's the difference between the intelligence/charisma, and the fast equilibrium. From what I understand, it's only 7% - while 10% faster herb balance would be MORE than useful (theoretically, plus both have them), 7% on EQ doesn't seem too much of a benefit. Nor does roll, as Bards get Acrobatics. Looking at it now, though, I'm just wondering if the faster equilibrium would actually be worth it. I'm thinking no. Just want opinions on this.
Either way, I'm probably going Elfen for the RP anyways. I still, however, am curious =]
Dai2009-02-17 23:52:10
From the looks of the comparison, I'd say the deciding factor would be the level 3 magic resistance and not the equilibrium bonus, which seems neglible by comparison. Magic is a pretty common element, after all.

What range would the price of a Throne be in?
Random throne comms (from memory or text file):
800 marble, 200 cloth.
1000 diamond
platinum 750 marble 75 onyx 100 silk 25 silver 50
marble 800 silver 100 cloth 50 redtint 10 coral 25 onyx 25
scalp 100 ear 100 dwarf 10 merian 20 furrikin 10 orc 10 iron 300
ruby 100 steel 100 wood 250
So as you can see, it varies greatly.
Also, for reference, a throne lasts 50 years IC. ( A year and about 2/3 of another IRL) so it's quite worth it.

What you're giving up for furrikin is bashing power in exchange for a tiny bit of flexibility in PvP. You won't hit as hard, and Spiritsingers are pretty passive-driven, so the eq bonus doesn't help you kill more as much as it gives you more options to respond to things. Magic resist is very good. Fire penalty is very bad. The magic resist is bigger, so there you go. In the end, though, they're both two moderately squishy, offensively oriented races. A better question would be furrikin/elfen vs. female kephera. There's a real contrast between viable races.

Can someone tell me the line that pops up when the month changes? Kinda of don't wanna wait another 4 hours for it...
EDIT: While you're at it, could someone also give me the lines that show up when you tap into the dross reserves and when you are forcibly unlinked because you can't draw anymore dross?

What does the brown names on QWHO and WHO mean? Demi/Ascedant? However, I honours-ed Yuniko, but it simply says (Femal Illithoid), so now I'm confused.
Edit: Also, what does this two lines mean:
You say, "I shall lead you to the Great Stage of Glomdoring!"
A wandering bard says, "I follow no one but His Excellency, fool! Do not think I will perform on your pathetic stages."
You say, "I shall lead you to the Great Library of Glomdoring!"
A thoughtful scholar says, "Ha! You think I would waste my knowledge on the idiocy of those who do not follow my Lord?"

Yuniko's a demigoddess. Changeself covers that up for some reasno. Tan names are demis, light blue names are VAs (not sure about TAs, Soji never turns his gem off.)
And I think the scholar messages because some clown activated the broadcast centre and only follow people of his org. They're talking about Ladantine. Or Globglob, I forget.

It's well established at low levels. At level 90+, this isn't so true.
