Ares is a god of war. It was an unfortunate attempt, complete with ooc references, to bid the warlike city with an affinity toward the earth farewell. While moronic and just cause for a good thrashing or summary execution, his statement wasn't technically gibberish.

No, actually, I think I buy Shaddus' explanation better...I was thinking "Ares" too at first, but the "in" makes more sense as "and."

EDIT: Although the last "in" is ambiguous..."cracks and stones" is kind of eh, but "cracks in stones" needs another article or similar.
