Heh. Kick ass, I found a jakari

/derail
kiriwe2009-03-21 00:01:00
Eh? Really? I thought Jakari had blades on them

I was thinking it was closer to this weapon.
Unknown2009-03-21 00:12:36
Jakari have blades on their end because I originally wanted kusarigamas for Glomdoring monks, but we were given claws instead. As Ninjakari had chains, Ildaudid asked that the weapon have the 'option' of a blade at one end. It is, in essence, a chain whip, not a kusarigama/meteor hammer. >.>
Rodngar2009-03-21 00:22:03
Kusarigama for Glomdoring Monks would have been cool - the three section staff would have also been a great choice.

I think the claws are very nice, though, so in the end it's alright.

In response to Tynghall and Gregori's quotes (I don't read this thread often)

1- I didn't have SS deathsong triggers sadly sad.gif I could have left or put up truehearing easily, so noobish >.<

2- My bad, I didn't know worldscan triggered aethersight. I was spamming it to see how fast the construct regened.

QUOTE (Neddy @ Mar 20 2009, 04:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
With a focused look, Tynghall strikes at you with a crowtalon klangaxe, and you
make ready with an athame dagger. With a flick of your athame, you easily
deflect Tynghall's klangaxe.

How does a 1 pound 8 ounce dagger deflect a 179 pound axe? wtf.gif

When you spend time learning how to use weapons, you tend to learn it's not so much about how much force is applied, but how it's applied. I can stop a full force fleche to my chest by a 250 pound fencer by performing a circle 6 and pulling their blade to the outside.
Shaddus2009-03-21 02:22:21
The merian bone jakari had a steel ( I think ) plated skull at each end. I think it could be either one.

Woot, I have something to quote! And yes, I am quoting myself partially in this quote, but that's because I failed spectacularly in this case. But since I'm quoting others too I thought this'd be legit. Anyway!
QUOTE
(Celest): You say, "...I just realized that I was holding a live squid all this
time."

(Celest): Lawliet (from the Aetherways) says, "The wriggling around didn't alert
you?"

(Celest): Shric says, "Throw it at someone."

(Celest): Lawliet (from the Aetherways) says, "Throw it at Shric."

(Celest): You say, "Sorry, already released it back to the sea."

(Celest): Shric says, "Hah, I'm in the Undervault. You'd have to have a bloody
good aim."

(Celest): Lawliet (from the Aetherways) says, "Oh, I do."

(Celest): Lawliet (from the Aetherways) says, "I'll find it just for that
purpose."

What kind of weapon is that anyway? Axe?

I belive the shofa is a historically acurate imaginary weapon sometimes called a staghorn knife or a moonblade and may have been fashioned along the lines to resemble an antler of somesort.

This is correct and was even discussed and images posted by Estarra and others at the time to show what a shofa would look like. It is indeed the classic Chinese deer horn knife or moonblade

Yeah, I feel kinda guilty about that since nekai are pretty awesome. We were struggling with where to put them though.

QUOTE
Submerged in arid desert sand.
Clouds of suffocating sands rise up to fill this barren cavity below the churning arid wilderness overhead. Billowing waves of airborne dust and sediment oscillate through the air even as porous cracks in the ground spew more detritus into the underground atmosphere. Strange little buzzing noises come from tears and rents in the sand-choked walls, the soft rhythms of the subterrestrial insects a pale comparison to the roiling desert sands contained within this den. Completely devoid of life, a monstrous sandworm has been cleaved in twain by an even deadlier predator. There are 6 spice packets in 2 groups here.

Dune.

You got a beef with that name, hamslice? You must be chicken if you go cold turkey in letting a guide know.
