Emanating the warm scent of blood mixed with the aroma of strong spices and musk, this lyre, surprisingly light in weight, seems to have been crafted in its entirety in hollowed silver. Upon the instrument's body are the overlaping visages and manifestations of the ancestral spirits, of the White Hart and his four aspects, etched by detailed hand and accented with pearl. A crossbar nearing the top of the instrument bears the images of a magnificent stag with head held high and mighty antlers ending in hundreds of points, his body glimmering white with a dusting of crushed pearl. Along the arms of the instrument are sketched the forms of deer in many stages of life: a foal standing with awkward legs, a buck with antlers just beginning to grow, a matronly doe, and a proud stag. Upon the instrument's body are images of three seated women of varying age: the pregnant Mother with hands upon her stomach, the youthful Maiden who seems to be caught mid-dance and song, and the wise Crone who hunches over a cauldron. Around these three women are the images of many antlered humanoids with hooded robes of styles centuries past. Pearl images of the seven visible moon-phases rest along the bottom of the lyre, from which seven tautly stretched strings of deer-gut stretch to the upper crossbar, allowing this instrument to be played.
