Erm, no? Chain lightning is nothing like those (it's more of a buffed boulderblast-equivalent). Cyclone is their fury equivalent. Shield probably does block chain lightning - but it's not a delayed effect, presumably. And fury and equivalents just strip shield and hit through it.

Scuch is actually rather nice, once you get to know her.

This, in a way.

And Cririk actually lightened up a bit too!

Xiel's page says you have it backwards. And last I remember they didn't strip shields.

More dead than alive, I managed to crawl out of Muud all alone from a group of ten. Sure I got help, and many thanks for that, but it was... fun. Very fun. I never thought I'd manage that far. It was an... interesting experience.

cheer.gif Yay, Aeromancy AB's. Just need Pyromancy and the information on Cloud Trill/Illuminated Dracnari stats now. cheer.gif

It smells strangely like druidry with psionics in place of sap. Real smash-face potential for groups. Lots of hindering. It'll break up groups in ways that'll make people beg to have briars to deal with. I'm having trouble seeing the 1v1 kill, though. No stuns, no way to slow potion sipping. Maybe concussion would do the trick, but I don't see a way to remove levitate.

Is the damage output enough that they can just mash the bashing button and kill if the opponent can't hinder in return?

Staff Summon your elemental staff.
Syntax: AEROCAST STAFF
Power: 10 (The Matrix)
Uses: POINT STAFF
WHIRL STAFF
RAISE STAFF
TWIRL STAFF
Damage Type: 50% Electrical, 50% Cold
Damage Source: Magical
The ultimate weapon of the aeromancer is a staff created from elemental air. By
wielding the staff you may POINT STAFF at a target and shoot wind and lightning at your target. You can RAISE STAFF at others to strip the levitation defense from them or to fling them into the sky if they have no levitation defense. With WHIRL STAFF, you can reveal anyone hiding in your location. Finally, by TWIRL STAFF you can raise a nimbus of protection around you, which will offer significant protection from electrical damage. This nimbus will also fling lightning at those who attack you, though it must be a direct attack in the same room and elevation as you. The power cost will be significantly less if cast on the Elemental Plane of Air.

Levitation stripping and pretty much free concussion (for comparison, TK fling is 3p).

There's definitely a way to remove levitate!

Oh man, there it is, and it's free. sad.gif

WTB druid upgrades.

What about mages? Aeromancers do passive curing better than Aquamancers, and Geo damage was nerfed - and Aeromancers have movement prevention and duststorm too!

I just went to Continuum...and it's BEAUTIFUL. Not even talking about the descriptions (those are nice too), but the layout is awesome. Kudos to whoever came up with the map!!
Rika2009-12-23 04:31:35
Hallifax. Says it all.

I survived it!

But... given that we never finished our conversation, I have no idea whether or not there was a point to it at all. sad.gif

Ironbeard visited me this morning!!

I got some vials filled with poison, which is totally useless, but since I've been gone so long all my vials had decayed, so it was a nice gift.

Also very exciting when he entered and handed it to me.
Lendren2009-12-23 17:05:39
Mapped the Continuum. Lendren's not too excited (apart from "ooh, pretty colors"), but man, do I love it. Kudos to whoever did this. I think it could be represented with a single diagram in four dimensions, but I can't see how it could be done in three. (And Doman wants me to draw it in two in a way that serves navigation and comprehension!) Definitely reminds me of "--And He Built A Crooked House--".

I have it drawn in 2d. It actually looks very cool, about the only thing that needs to be done is to colour each outer row (that connects to the middle) so that it is the appropriate colour for the central sphere (as that's the only issue it has, all the spheres are on top of one another in the middle, along with some of the line connections). Appropriate colour coding for the other layers would address that pretty well, though.

And, with that, I think I will take my advice and colour the map to see how it looks!

Edit: As an update, it does not look quite so good coloured (too much colour, really), but it makes a bit more sense on a navigational level, so eh.

I used almost 20 pages of graph paper trying to design the Continuum (yes, I am very old school), so I'm thankful that people appreciate it! I knew basically how I wanted it to work but I kept ending up with infeasible designs that took hundreds more rooms than we wanted before finally setting on this (relatively) simpler yet effective layout.

The colour is just a wee bit distracting, but it's pretty simple in concept-- rooms along the even plane connect to the center by east/west/north/south, the diagonal ones connect diagonally. Just walk to the colour you want to get to the sphere you want, and head to the center. happy.gif

Melds on this will be super-fun.
