I have to rave about Xarcy's first & second time aetherhunting. LUVED IT! They need to add photon torpedoes, more denizens invading the ship, freaky black holes, random craziness, AND WARP DRIVES!! The whole time I was imagining myself on Moya. How cool would it be to have random ships just appear out of no where, board, and start causing mayhem! The possibilities are endless! *twitch* ohyeah.gif

Right here, you have pointed out nearly every reason why I despise aetherhunting and its place in Lusternia smile.gif .

Transversing is pretty close to warp drives, and plenty of the things turrets do are not unlike photon torpedoes. Vortices are fairly like black holes, particularly in how you can be yanked through them to a random other spot. I dunno, slivvens seem like enough invading denizens to me.

Aethercraft always makes me think of farscape rather then star trek

Well, I think everyone has a different image of what Lusternia should be. If you're coming strictly from a Fantasy-minded perspective, then having a Sci-Fi element would just corrupt that image. Is there any specific reason why you dislike it? I'm just curious...

Well, you have to remember I'm still new to it. I imagine after my 50th tour things might get a bit monotonous. And when my skill gets high enough I'll be able to try out the different modules/positions. Hopefully by then they'll add some more interesting things. Oh, and the ships should say random things on the ship channel...

I'm actually for having biological Tainted/Light/etc creatures that attach to your body and do funky things. It would probably be an extension of beastmastery except there would be a positive and negative effects to balance it out. The best example would be the Space Gods from Torg. *ack* Now I'm just rambling... Anyways, I had a great time... Much love to my Mags people for bringing me along!

I agree it does have a more "Farscape-y" feel to it than it does a Star Trek one.

Artoo! What are you doing in there, give me that back!

I'm not a fan because it seems so much unlike every other aspect of Lusternia. Even Magnagora's steampunk potential doesn't seem out of line. Plus, it is an aspect of the game that is completely separate from everything else, and completely separates those participating from everyone else.

I'm a huge sci-fi, but it just doesn't feel right to me.

EDIT: And a manse should be a manse, a ship a ship. I laugh every time I see someone firing a turret from a Grand Ballroom With Crystal Chandeliers or going into the cargo hold at Fluffy Bedroom Painted Pink with Unicorns. Unfortunately, Google has failed me in providing an adequate illustration for this.

My lawn is more Gun Turret than your lawn.

Okay, I can see your point. Personally, it took me 50 or so IC years before I jumped on the aether-bandwagon so I can understand feeling separate from everyone else. It's like missing the punchline of a joke. Maybe install a system where lower level characters can "rent" out ships and perform missions or be able to explore to get a feel of how it is being in an aethercraft. I always chuckle when a newbie asks me to take them to one of the aether planes for the Planar quest.

And yes a manse should be a manse and a ship a ship. I agree completely. But isn't that the fault of the player for poor design planning?

It does, but I sometimes think it has a bit of firefly thrown in. Bubbles, danger (and now, apparantly, pirates). I wish the landings were at least half as awesome, though.

<3 Xarcon - your running commentary on the clan either during your first aetherhunt was so incredibly excited and unbelievably geeky I could not stop giggling the whole time. Hehe best nephew ever!

Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have advanced to level 81.
You have reached the illustrious level of 5th Circle of the Fates.

Highest I've ever been in Lusternia biggrin.gif

And I had to restrain myself too... I can't let the geek go free like that all the time. And yes, for me, aetherhunting reminds me of Farscape. Let's go over the crew:

Estwald = Pilot
Nariah = Zhaan
Revan = D'Argo
Esano = Crichton
Uruk = The male version of Sun
Lavinya = Chiana
I couldn't really think of someone for Glevich, Marie, and Troika. Who wants to be the Dominar?

The funniest part of that trip was when Nariah said, "Do you all want to die?" over the ship aether. I couldn't stop laughing until when low n' behold, we get violated by a black dragon just a little while later. That really tickled me.

A huge rave for whoever wrote and executed the scene for Mahalla's song. It fuels the fire for things we've been working on and also gives us so much to ponder and play with. For a smallish event, it's clear that so much work was put into it, with deference to the things that the guild has created as well as the direction we want to head in. Thank you! Thank you! bard.gif

Log! Unless it's secret.

Trialante's song was nice, it didn't reveal much about Her though.
