Are trill even good at anything/useful? >_>

Trill are pretty nice for anything involving charisma, like influencing, though they are pretty fragile. As a cloud trill, I get +1 charisma, so I have 16 base. I can easily get this up to 18 or maybe 19 without trying too hard, and then get a nice health/mana/ego blessing from a quest. And I'm a telekinetic, so once I get forcefield (not too far now!) my inability to bash anything without getting torn apart will be a thing of the past, as I will effectively have 2,000+ more health to work with than I did before.

Also, I can fly, and have some nice resistances. So yay, trill!

EDIT: And I used to be a mugwump. I know about being a junk race, and chickadee, I assure you: trill is not a junk race. suspicious.gif

Yeah but at least merian is relatively useful.

You keep telling yourself that. While we here in reality will discuss real things.

Though the Seduction bonus is odd. Trill being Hallifax-associated makes it odd in one way. Trill having regens only in the air where there's no one to seduce is another way. And the fact that seducing for experience can be done in so few places, and tends to get people mad at you because of what seduction actually does, and doesn't produce any real benefit other than the experience and esteem, is yet another way. Still, plenty of other races have it worse!

Trill resists are, indeed, very nice. They only get nicer as the admin continue to make more mobs that use cold/electric/psychic based attacks. And, by no small coincidence, this includes all the mobs on air and the ones in Halli's nexus world. A specced trill can tank those things better than a specced lucidian.

Merian is still just fryer fodder.

I just realised, the status for every bug in my buglist now says "resolved". Not something that happens every month/year.

So tempted to switch from Telepathy to Telekinesis just for Forcefield. As a Trill I pretty much get ripped apart by anything stronger than Manticores and Astral Eagles. Which is sad considering monks about 20 levels below me can hunt the same stuff I do.

Yeah...forcefield is the main reason I took telekinesis over telepathy. I just can't survive without it if I want to do anything besides influence guards all the day long (yuck). I feel bad that that's how it is though, because I want the Aeromancers to have more telepaths, but when a good chunk of us are trill who get torn apart otherwise, on top of the fact that telekinesis has more utility regardless... I don't see it happening. confused.gif

sad.gif Telepathy is so fun. HIDDEN AFFLICTIONS. And I love TP for both Influencing, debating, and combat. And for the better experience boost from a mindlink squad. While forcefield is, imo, only useful for hunting, or against someone who's stupid.

Well yeah, you don't use forcefield in combat. tongue.gif

I've actually seen someone use it in combat. It was some time ago, but they were using it.

Thank you to whatever kind admin whisked me off to a gingerbread war camp, "POWER TO THE PASTRIES" is beautiful background music to a super secret ninja proposal.

The Storm Trill Sentinel flies into battle with precise, measured maneuvers. Clad in the Ceremonial Armor of the Sentinel's Company of Temporal Anomalies, with utmost grace and perfection it fells the enemies of the Mighty and Magnificent Commonwealth. None who stand before the Trill host has any chance of escaping their pursuit. Soon thunder erupts as the last few drops of blood wet the earth. The Trill still stand, glory won to the Collective. With utmost dignity they serve the interests of Hallifax and Hallifax alone, unconcerned with lesser matters.

Also they are TEH SEXORS.
Furien2010-09-16 08:42:16
And then, for all their hard work saving the day by risking their lives for stuffy, stuck-up scientists and aloof artists, they aren't getting anywhere past CR4.

Glory to the Collective!
