Finally, I have a crow I like!

CODE
A mammoth, dappled grey crow flies here with wings spread.

The crow is mammoth, an enormous bird with dappled grey feathers and beak. One eye has been scooped out, leaving a dark, empty socket, forcing the crow to constantly cock his head towards whatever catches his interest. The crow's one red eye gazes malevolently at you. Larger than a dog, his wings have a span of over eight feet. He is called 'Svethren.'

Oh man, you're not like the rest of us. You have a crow that not only could carry off a small child, it could probably carry off the accompany adult as well!

I'm going to teach it how to trample.

Old thread, but:

A black phoenix perches here, her fiery plumage illuminating the area with midnight fires.

Shifting and flickering, the air surrounding the phoenix is infused with an intense heat, surrounding her like an aura barely visible to sight yet appearing all the more tangible. Her plumage is composed of multicoloured feathers, starting with orange at the shaft and flaring out to black at the tips. A faint dusting of gold covers each wing, causing them to shine and glimmer. Her eyes are round and small, but glowing with crimson flames, as if burning from within while her beak is long and narrow and a deep coal-black in colour. Burning midnight fires dance across the phoenix's plumage every so often, making her a magnificent creature of light, heat and vivid colour. She is called 'Serenvis.'

I rather like it. happy.gif

Yay!

Surrounded by crackling lightning, a resplendent opal thunderbird spreads her leathery wings here, yellow eyes blazing with a keen intellect.

The thunderbird is as large as a giant eagle, with head feathers that spread around her neck like a mane and tail feathers that flare out behind her. Her wingspan that is twice as long as the length of her body, the feathers of which are leathery and surrounded by crackling lightning. With each beat of her wings, the sound of a small thunderclap echoes around her. She preens and cleans her feathers with a long curved beak, yellow eyes blazing with a keen intellect. She is called 'Ilsira.'

Opal! How cool is that? Though, maybe someday it can show the color in the long_desc? Those phoenixes are mighty complicated in comparison to our humble thunderbirds...

Not really, the only real difference I've seen is some Phoenixes are Red and Yellow, while others are black.
Druken2010-01-11 23:09:31
No, I mean the quality of the different creatures' descriptions. Thunderbirds are pretty plain in comparison to the details in the phoenixes.

I'm not trying not to sound petty, and it's really just because I want a phoenix without having to move to Gaudiguch, I think. But still!

I've also seen a yellow and red phoenix, and a "midnight black" phoenix as opposed to basic black. I've seen a green one as well.

a brilliant pegasus with sparkling, luminescent wings

Posessing a finer and stronger build than any mere horse, the proud and noble pegasus is a paragon of equine and avian creatures alike. Feather-soft, his brilliant form shimmers in any light, celestial luminescense clinging to him as though eternal light is woven into his very form. His mane and tail both fall in silken cascades, glittering in his own radiance, his mane cast back across the base of his sparkling, luminescent wings. This pegasus shifts his sparkling, luminescent wings, eyeing his surroundings serenely. Complimenting his brilliant appearance, his hooves hold a metallic lustre and the piercing gaze of his eyes glows from within.

A hairy war goat with large curling horns

This hairy goat is a wary creature with a dirty, knotted fleece and large curling horns. Yellow eyes gleam above his protruding snout, and a thick beard hangs about his chin, flecked with foam and dripping drool. Pacing to and fro, the goat chews down on the bit of the reins with his jaw line twitching. A worn leather saddle has been fitted securely beneath the goat's shoulders, and barbed stirrups dangle from it. He is called 'Frederick.'
A hairy war goat with large curling horns seems to be unafraid.
He weighs about 1062 pounds.
His feedbag is brimming with food and he is looking well-fed.
He is loyal to Brother Tynghall Blackcopse, Student of Malice.
A hairy war goat with large curling horns is holding:
Nothing.

Why in the hell does a goat weigh 1062 pounds?

The thunderbird is as large as a giant eagle, with head feathers that spread around his neck like a mane and tail feathers that flare out behind him. His wingspan is twice as long as the length of his body, the feathers of which are white-feathered and surrounded by forks of yellow lightning. A highstrung hippogriff stands here

Massive crimson wings filling much of the space around her, a highstrung hippogriff stands here, surrounded by sulfuric fumes

Possessed of rare and unnatural animal mixtures, the noble hippogriff is a beast born from the breeding of chimaera and pegasus. Long forgotten and unseen in the Basin of Life, the hippogriff is a fearsome, yet beautiful sight to behold. A powerful equine frame builds the bulk of the hippogriff's muscular body. Lean legs stretch down into hooves from the beast's hindquarters, and massive, clawed feline paws make up the forelimbs. The hippogriff's head is distinctly horse-like in shape and size, though the mouth has been replaced by a hooked, snow white beak. Feathers form a flowing snow white mane that runs over the top of the creature's head then down the back of her neck and shoulders to cover a pair of powerfully built crimson wings that have grown from the shoulders. Long, flowing feathers replace the traditional tail of the hippogriff's equine heritage, coloured in various shades of snow white. She is called 'Taigi.'
A highstrung hippogriff with crimson wings is not one to be trifled with.

Now how cool is that? I'm torn between leaving her like that. Or trying another zimoru.
Sylphas2010-03-12 02:47:16
Various shades of snow white? Huh. Like, snow white after being plowed off a highway and snow white white after being trampled into mud?
